Who’s Going to be a Vampire Bride in True Blood Episode 5 – Trouble

Who's Going to be a Vampire Bride in True Blood Episode 5 - Trouble

The creep factor ratcheted up quite a few notches this week as Franklin keeps Tara locked up with him in the king’s house and he finally confesses that he wants her to be his vampire bride. Poor girl, she can’t win…she finds a guy who’s crazy for her and he’s a psycho. Some other highlights from Episode 5:

Highlights from Tonight’s Episode

Tara is stuck as Franklin’s plaything, he’s considers her to be “spectacularly different”. Franklins says that Tara is such a fucking disaster, the two of them could be twins. What a compliment…

The king of Mississippi is disturbingly interested in Sookie, especially when he finds out that Bill was keeping a dossier on Sookie and her family tree. Eric arrives at the king’s house, meeting Talbot, the royal consort. Talbot is quite fascinated with him. Eric tells the king that he wants to hunt Bill Compton in his area, when much to his surprise, Bill walks in and the two of them engage in one of their famous glaring contests. No love lost there.

Franklin has Tara tied to the bed, he put her in a new gown that he bought her. Franklin is obsessed with her and he’s jealous of Layfayette texting her. At one point he says “watch how fast I text”. That was pretty amusing, watching a vampire brag about their texting skills. Tara gets away during the day while all the vampires are in their daylight sleeping mode. Unfortunately, she can’t get away from Franklin that easily, especially when a werewolf runs her down.

Jason shows up at the sheriff’s department, waiting to start his new job. Andy gives him a desk and puts him on phone duty. Jason is out washing police cars when he sees a hot girl drive by in a pickup. He pulls her over – shirtless – and asks for her license and registration. She challenges him and says no, she doesn’t think he’s a cop. All he gets out of her is her name, Crystal. He begs her to meet him at Merlotte’s but she just drives away. Jason? Shirtless? And the girl just drives away?

Alcide wants to tell his packmaster about Debbie and what happened at her initiation where the King of Mississippi gave his blood to the werewolves. The packmaster, Colonel Flood, says there’s nothing he can do about the king – he wants to ignore the problem and just wait for it go away. That’s a can-do attitude!

Layfayette and Sam’s brother Tommy are smoking cigars together when his mother’s nurse Jesus shows up. Layfayette is having a hard time accepting that Jesus came over just to see him. Nice to see Layfayette flustered for a change.

Tara is tied up again by Franklin and he’s having a major crying jag over the idea that she tried to leave him. She mollifies him by apologizing profusely and acting like she wants to be with him. That girl has some good acting skills.

The king questions Bill on why he was investigating Sookie and her genealogy. It appears that Bill is no longer on the king’s list of favorites since he has him escorted to his room under guard. Bill finds out that Sookie is in Mississippi and escapes, racing out to try and warn her.

Jason sees Crystal in Merlotte’s parking lot – it looks like she showed up after all. She tells him to stay away from her but they end up making out by the water. Good old Jason, he’s still got his mojo after all.

At the king’s house, Lorena comes down the stairs and sees Eric. They both say “YOU” with disdain so it appears there is some history there.

Bill shows up at Alcide’s place trying to warn Sookie off but in her own annoying way, she won’t listen to him and keeps demanding an explanation. Just then, the king and his minions show up, planning to take Sookie with them. This week’s episode ends with a werewolf attacking Sookie, who knocks him off with a blast of white light, much to the king’s surprise and pleasure. It looks like Sookie has become a hot commodity in the vampire world.

I loved this weeks episode. I new it was going to be full of action and I wasn’t let down. I think they are moving a bit to fast with the Jason and Crystal relationship, considering how it ends in the book. So much happens in Bon Temps between the main characters up to that point. So much happens to Jason before he meets Crystal that changes him so I just hope they follow through with their story line because its vital to Jason’s character.

I loved the part where Bill looks at Eric and he says “Sookie is no longer mine…” and Eric looks at him with no real expression. Yet the non expression says it all… “Great now I will go for her and she will be mine!” lol. Bill knew that was the last thing he ever wanted to say to Eric but also knew saying that to Eric would insure Sookie’s safety. Hes said in the books and in the show “If anything was to happen to me, I would want you to go to Eric.” Its like they were communicating silently. I loved it.

Alot of people who haven’t read the books might not like the fact that Sookie doesn’t end up with Bill, but that’s how it is. Bill was there to teach Sookie how to love and accept herself but Eric makes her a woman and accepts her for all she is and all she will become. So even if your a fan of the Bill Sookie relationship don’t hold your breath. In the books they dont get back together and the producers and writers of the show would be stupid to change such a vital and pivotal plot line in the show. Even though they change alot to suit their own creativity the Eric Sookie relationship is what the entire book series is based off of. Everything else just surrounds it. So to change that would ruin the story line.

I’m still very excited to see how they interpret the books into the show. I’m very impressed so far, but also equally annoyed…lol I love the books they aren’t better then the show but they aren’t inferior either. They are so different that you cant compare them. I only hope that the writers and producers understand not only do they need to capture new followers of the stories but also be faithful to the fans already existing, who have followed and read the books.

Next weeks looks great. I cant wait to see how it ends considering the Jacksonville plot line is leaps and bounds different form the books. Its like I’m seeing a different draft of the book. lol

Are we loving Sam this season? I am SO glad to see Sam’s “other side”! He is really trying to take his younger brother under wing and help him but those AWFUL parents! I feel a BIG confrontation coming on between them and Sam! Whoo Hoo…..get ‘um Sam! Or should I say “sic ‘um”? lol… Who thinks that Tommy has been dog fighting? Oh yeah, all those scars and his “go to shift” is a pit bull. You bet cha! That Dad has Tommy fighting and stealing to support the family seeing that he is a worthless bum and won’t sober up long enough to take care of them.

And Tara? Geez…..first her lovely Mother….then Maryann….now a freaky vampire? Oh my goodness! She can get into more trouble than anyone I’ve ever known! So does Franklin turn her? Come on now….Sookie is now on her way to save the day…..maybe.

Sookie has problems of her own. The king of Mississippi wants her, Bill wants her, Eric wants her and she is staying with a “hunk” of a werewolf, Alcide! Dang, why can’t I be Sookie! And I love her “shooting” white light energy thingy. I would just love to use that on some people I know. But who will save the day this time for her? Bill, Eric? Hmmmm…..I’m leaning toward Eric. The truth about Bill may be fixing to surface here real soon.

Jason… he just never changes. Now, we know he can’t help himself when it comes to women (if you read the books you know why) but he is fixing to get more than he bargained for with Miss Crystal.

Jessica…and probably Tommy? Yep, I think so. Just think of it. A baby vamp who dosen’t really know the vampire ropes yet and a shape shifting pit bull with an attitude! I forsee some wicked trouble coming.

Lorena needs to go away but I don’t see that happening just yet. She has more hateful mean things in store for Bill to leave this soon. Grrrr…I can’t stand her.

Are the Magister’s days getting short? Probably. He’s a thorn in too many Vampire’s side. Bye, Bye.

Lafayette has a stalker…or maybe a boyfriend. There is something strange about Jesus but I can’t put my finger on it yet.

Arlene and Terry, what a perfect pair. Both a bair outside the box. lol.. And will Terry find out that the baby isn’t really his? Hmmm will he even care?

Sophia-Ann is fixing to get a BIG surprise. Instead of manipulating she is about to be manipulated. Poor Sophia-Ann…NOT.

Franklin….how long can a psycho-freak vampire last? I have to admit I laughed a lot at his mannerism but he is a loose cannon and with all the “bad boys” in town his clock is ticking.

Season 3 is on fire and heating up! Yee-Haw Come on Sunday!

I think Sams story is boring. Sure his parents very messed up but thats about it. Im not really enjoying the story of Sam this year. I feel as though they are reaching to find a way to make him more interesting. At least in the books he was a rare shape shifter because he can change into anything. In the show hes just an opinionated, jealous passive-aggressive friend.

Tara has always annoyed me. I dont like her character, her attitude and how shes always “miss victim”. They are trying to find ways to keep the characters they created form the books fit in to the stories and to me the side plot lines just seem like filler.

Eric and Sookie are making a good stride towards their relationship. They truly love eachother and have a connection much stronger then Bill does and Im very excited to see it develop.

Franklin is great! I love him. Hes so messed up and hilarious. I hope he sticks around, the humor in this last episode was a nice release from the gloom and depression of the shows atmosphere this season.

I am personally LOVING the story line with Sam, and the Sam character in general… he is really stepping up this season and taking charge… thats what I love about TB, everyone likes/dislikes diff things :)

I relate to Tara so much, I can’t help but love her… she does seem to find trouble and is such a magnet for it .. which leads me to my favorite character of the season, FRANKLIN!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this character… from the hilarious outburst of random sayings to the psycotic breakdowns he keeps me laughing at every moment.

Loving the story line with Laffy & Jesus….. I dont think Jesus is all that he appears… anyone else thinking he could be a supe? Could he be our introduction into the fairy world ?( and no, I do not mean this as a slur towards his sexual prefrence).

Loving the Eric/Sookie/Bill/ALCIDE!! thing going on… SOOO happy the weres are in this season, I personally have waited to see Alcide come to life for a very long time, and he did not disappoint!!

Also can see the Tommy/Jessica relationship unfolding… I called it way before he even started working for Sam.. sometimes you just know! I also think that Tommy/Jo Lee are invovled in a dog fighting ring…. the scars and the pitbull are adding up to trouble.

Love Talbot… hate Russell…not the actor’s portrayl, but the character himself… he reminds me of a snake.

*takes a breath* LOL I had alot to say

    :)

I agree with you. There are so many story lines and characters that everyone can like/dislike different things.

Sam is a great character and I do enjoy that they are expanding his character from the books, but still to me he seems boring.

Tara is very relatable to alot of people Im sure. Its not so much her character I dont like but the actress playing her. I Just dont like her, I think shes a bad actress and she bugs me. I dont know why its just a thing… lol

Im all for the Eric/Sookie/Bill triangle. Alcide wont get much play hes just a passing lust. I can see good things happening and Im excited for those who havent read the books, because they will be shocked. No matter what team your rooting for…Team Eric or team Bill.

I really hope season 4 plays with the story of Eric and the witches. It was such a romantic and touching story. With Eric being the type of person he is, this story really touches on the fact that most vampires just have a stone shield around their hearts. Because Eric is quit the man in this book and the action plot line is awesome.

Jessica is a great character and sams brother will hook up with her. Its inevitable! :)

I am bummed they arent making Tara a vampire. They are acting like they are but they wont. Which bums me out. I think if they did her character would be that much more interesting. She so depressing but as a vamp, her inner strength would be more suiting to a vampire then a weak human. Plus Sookie and her would still be friends so it wouldnt ruin their relationship any.
