True Blood Finale Spoilers – Guess Who Dies?

Eric Dies True BloodOkay Truebies. The time is almost here. In a few short days we’ll find out how True Blood Season 3 ends.

I have a few ideas about the finale based on my extensive research (ha ha). We know Alan Ball will go for the shock factor. And we know someone will probably die, perhaps even more than one person. Therefore, here’s what I think might happen in the season finale:

#5 - Lafayette Has Special Powers. Yes, I think Miss LaLa is more than your average lipstick wearing, glitter-fabulous short order cook. His powers will help him see Jesus for what he really is: evil.

#4 - Arlene’s Baby is Possessed. I think her pregnancy will become something akin to Rosemary’s Baby. I think there’s a reason Holly’s magic didn’t work on the baby – I think there’s something weird about that baby. This would be poetic justice for Arlene because she’s kind of a supernatural bigot. I think Lafayette, with his special powers, will see that there’s something odd about her baby.

#3 - Tara is Pregnant. She’s carrying Eggs’ baby, which she decides to keep as a way of keeping Eggs’ legacy alive. In True Blood Season 4 we’ll see a calmer, gentler Tara. (Update: one of the readers suggested that Tara will get pregnant by Sam. Hmmn, what will the child be?)

#2 - Baby Vamp Jessica Kills Hoyt’s Mother. She does this either by mistake (blood lust) or because she gets really angry. She decides to hide this from Hoyt and spends next season afraid someone will find out what she did.

#1 - ERIC WILL DIE. The True Blood cliffhanger has to be BIG. To me, that means one of the main characters has to die. Or appear to die. Since they’ve already set the stage for Eric to perish, I think they’ll do something to make us REALLY believe he’s dead. We’ll spend the next 9 months wondering if it’s true.

—-UPDATE—-

Since yesterday I’ve been thinking about the demise of another character. Okay, don’t flog me but what about this:

#1a - SOOKIE DIES. Like Eric, Sookie is in bad shape at the end of episode 11. If she doesn’t get blood from Bill she might die. Hmmn. Wasn’t there a season finale preview that showed Sookie in fairyland? Okay, so what if she dies (I mean REALLY dies), her body is taken to the fae, and they restore her – either because she’s one of them or because they work out some deal with the vampires. Also, don’t forget that a sorceress is being written into next season. She’s supposedly someone with necromancer powers that can bring people back from the dead. See where I’m going?

So, we have 2 ways that Sookie (or possibly Eric) could be brought back from the dead. If Sookie’s brought back she’d be a sort of undead but not a true vampire. Don’t you see how this would make her even more unusual? What exactly would she be? We’d be on pins and needles wondering about her character’s powers for next season!

Okay, your turn. What do YOU think will happen in the True Blood Finale?

That sums it up for me for the most part,it has to go somewhere I thought Russell was the funniest in a sick way but Eric will be back unless he has a better contract someplace else.Eric has changed from last season he has more feeling.I like all the characters.LaLa as you say is the coolest but I always said the was more to him than what they was telling us but now Tara I think she will get pregnant by Sam with the question?what will it be,then Egg will somehow someway show up.Now Bill is holding back and he is going to have step up,there is something strange going on with him..Bill,Russell and Eric had Sookie’s blood,I’m sure Eric The Vampire will be back,he can’t go out like that I’ve never read any of the books but when you got a good thing going you just don’t let it burn.LOL

Have u read any of the books?! I know that the show doesn’t completely follow the books and that Alan Ball gives his own twist, but there is absolutely NO WAY that they will kill off Eric. He is a staple to the entire Sookie Stackhouse world. If he dies, then there is no more following the outline of the books.

Oh yes, I’ve read the books. My point wasn’t that Eric would really die – it was that they’d do something to make use think he just MIGHT be dead.

For example, at the end of True Blood Season 1 everyone loved Lafayette. We thought “surely they wouldn’t write him out of the script, he’s too popular.” But at the same time some of us thought “hmmn, that foot DOES look like Lafayette’s.”

I was just speculating about the most outrageous, totally left-field cliffhanger and came up with Eric. For all we know, Eric and Bill have cooked something up to make his death look real . . . . I read that someone will die in the season finale; unless it’s a fairly central character it won’t be a shocking finale that will keep us on edge until next season starts.

In the first season it was Lafayette (or so we thought). At the end of Season 2 it was Bill’s kidnapping. Of the remaining central characters we have Sookie, Eric, Tara, Sam and Jason.

I don’t think viewers have a huge emotional attachment to Tara, Sam and Jason. That leaves Sookie and Eric.

      My money’s on Eric!

If you have read the books you know Sookie, Eric and Bill will survive to next season. So who will it be? I think it will be Lafayette.

I would agree with you…but I think fans of the show like him too much…in the books, he is already dead…but I would imagine we will keep him with us…and I do hope so…his scenes with Eric…although brief…are hilarious!!

Well…if it goes anything like the books…which it has been doing a pretty decent job of following…Erik will NOT die and neither will Sookie. We have already seen in the preview that Godric’s ghost is going to be seen by Erik in the finale and we know Pam will do anything to save him…so either Pam or Godric will save Erik and we also know Russell isn’t going to die cause he said so…so I don’t really think anyone big time will die…just too easy of a cliffhanger. And I think Sookie headed toward fairy land is simply cause she is close to death. Claudine is her fairy godmother…so I don’t think she is going to let Sookie die. Vampire blood will save her one way or another but without changing her significantly. I think if you are looking for a big character death or supposed death…look to Sam…or maybe Pam in attempts to save Eric…but honestly I don’t think any of them will die…I mean it’s only season 3…seriously. Alan Ball (or someone) said that next season is the season of the witch. And if, again, they follow the basic premise of the books (which I SO hope they do)…there are going to be a LOT of shake ups…but that’s my main reason for believing that Eric will not die…he is a WAY major character next season…as are Sookie, Bill (well not so much Bill) and Pam! Oh and about the Hoyt Jessica thing…I think that might be pretty close to the truth…either that or Hoyt is going to kill his mom because we saw in the preview that his mom has a shotgun and appears to be going after someone (Jessica presumably). But either way…who cares! We haven’t mentioned Jason…again, here is a story line I really really hope they pull from the books in the coming seasons…I can see the storylines getting a little convoluted if they keep True Blood going…but the basic storylines should be able to be maintained and they are good story lines…so I hope the True Blood folks keep it going as long as they are able!

    • Reagan:

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Since I wrote this post I’ve seen lots of info. on the net about the last episode and I’d be shocked if Eric is knocked off.

However I’m about Tara since she’s tried to kill herself once already. And now that you mention it, I read that in the finale Pam will do anything to save Eric (her maker’s) life.

I agree with your comments about Jason’s character. The books do a great job of developing his personal storyline and making the little hamlet of Hotshot seem real. I hope Alan Ball incorporates those plotlines into the series.

I think that Eric will disappear for a couple of episodes then return exposure to the sun causing the memory loss that in the book was caused by witch craft. Eric and Sookie will end up in a closer relationship maybe not sexual yet but getting there. bill will end up in a situation that will allow for this to happen, The Queen will send him on some mission getting him out of the way for the Eric Sookie thing. The wiccan at Merlottes will be the catalyst for the witch stuff coming up and I think Jason has a big change ahead of him literally meow. Hoyts mom isn’t going anywhere soon she, she and little miss cupcake will be a thorn in Jessica’s side in season 4. Lala and Jesus is another kettle of fish that will somehow be tied to the witch thing. Lafayette will be the savior and Jesus the bad guy. Just a few thought’s guess we’ll find out next year.
