I think reading the books adds a different perspective to the series. Having said that, it's interesting to see Alan Ball's adaptation of Charlaine Harris' novels. I'm sure we'll see lots more of Eric - I can't wait until Sookie returns to Fangtasia for her 2nd visit (the one where she reads minds). It will be interesting to see how they film that scene.
