True Blood Episode 12 Finale – Beyond Here Lies Nothin’

For those of you in the contest that predicted Maryann would die…Yahtzee! But did Eggs? I guess we will find out in June.
At least one egg-nigma was solved. Sookie had a great line when she asked, “What is up with the egg? Did you lay it?” Ostrich egg. All-righty, then.
Another question answered, “How do you kill a maenad?” To quote a line from a classic 80’s movie, The Breakfast Club, “You mess with the bull, you get the horns.” I was glad that Maryann’s god finally came, even if it was really Sam parading around as a Brahma bull. She’d waited long enough. The ceremony was lovely. At so many weddings the bridesmaid’s dresses are just hideous, but I have to say, Lafayette looked fantastic. Kudos to Sam and Bill for joining forces to save the woman they both love, and the town of Bon Temps, too.
Tonight’s episode sure went to Team Bill. He definitely upped his boyfriend game tonight. He saved his girl, and her town. He finally took her out for a decent date (not to mention popping the question), and what does he get for his trouble? Well, we are not sure what he’s getting, are we? Is Eric “personally taking care of him?” Or perhaps he’s been taken by Lorena?
Other puzzles to ponder between now and June 2010:
-Will Hoyte and Jessica reunite?
-Will Eggs survive being shot by Jason?
-Will anyone find out that Jason shot Eggs instead of Andy?
-Will Sam find his family? Will he like them if he does or are they really bad people?
-Why is the Queen having Eric and Lafayette sell V?
-Why does Sookie’s cousin Handley dress like Ellie Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies?
-Will we get to see Eric naked? (That last one is personal, sorry.)
I suppose if we want the answers to these questions, we’ll have to wait. Same vamp time, same vamp channel, entirely different year! (That’s an old Batman TV reference. BTW, when did vamps stop turning into bats?)

The last time I remember seeing a vamp turn into a bat on TV was in The Munsters, haha.
very nice of you to pick two winners BFS. At first I saw that you put congrats to those who picked MA to die….and you left Eggs fate up in the air. I was like “what?!, he took a bullet to the head!!! He’s dead!” But I think it’s very cool that you decided to count him as dead, and give away both gifts. Way to go BFS!
Like I said on the “Contest Winner” thread…I believe Eggs is really dead because I heard he was filming a pilot for another show on another network.
As for Bill being “kidnapped”…I feel, at first, Sookie will think he left in a fit of rage because of her response to his proposal…until she is ultimately consoled by Eric. Who took Bill? They want you to think that it’s Eric (and perhaps he’s ultimately behind it) but just like the end of last season where they wanted you to think it was Lafayette dead in the car. This is a long shot but perhaps in a jealous rage it’s Tara upset that her love had been taken from her…and she thinks the death of MaryAnne, etc drove Eggs to take his life or go crazy and get shot. So she blames Sookie for it ultimately? Or perhaps Eric and the Queen had Lafayette do that to cover up his tracks?
As for why the Queen is having Eric sell “V”? Not entirely sure…but I had a previous question that was never answered…which is to when Sookie was sucking the broken shards from Eric…Erics blood was now in Sookie…so my question was…what happens when humans take “V”?? Does the same thing ultimately happen with whichever vampires blood they took? Perhaps that could be a reason…
Another quick side question: The Queen says “I know you may be the oldest vampire in the area…” and then proceeded to take him down…is she younger than him?? How do you get to become a “Queen” Vampire in one area like Bon Temps…where in a place like Dallas there is a “Sherriff”?
Hey,
First I loved the reviews on the finale. I agree with others that say that Eggs is “dead and gone” anyway. He wouldn’t get over what he did so it had to be something like this.
I loved the scene where MA is killed. Although I thought they pushed the whole MA craziness a bit too far (there is only so much orgies a person can take) I became to respect a lot the MA character, and I think the actress Michelle Forbes did a great job. It was absolutely perfect in my opinion, though it raises in me the question, where the hell Sam went to find a Bull (??) like that to be imprinted on?
But it was magnificent, and I loved the whole scene. I expected her to die and this was the perfect way to happen.
Though I was a bit unhappy with the end scenes.
I know they want us to think that it was Eric and it probably will turn out not to be him, but I find it quite improbable that he is not at least behind this. First, I think that it was actually a vampire that kidnapped Bill since the “person” was wearing gloves and vampires can’t handle silver. But also can be that it was a Were, since they have the same problem (If it is like it is in the books), in a greater degree than the vampires and Alan Ball already said that the Weres are coming in season 3. We have still to find if Bill made something to make the Weres angry, but my suspects fall into the vampires. And the probable business partnership Eric/Lorena.
The thing is that, if my suspects are true, the whole Eric Vs Bill championship that makes the tvshow (and the books) so interesting and spicy would be over if Eric actually “takes care of Bill personally”, even if we know that the Queen will kill Eric if he doesn’t. I’ve been trying to figure out how it will be, but it doesn’t seem good for Eric. Well, I have to wait.
Dalton, I also thought the statement of the Queen was strange, in the books she is called Queen of Louisiana and she lives in the head-vampire-quarters in New Orleans, but in the Tvshow she is only called Queen. But then again, neither Bill or Eric talked to Sookie or any other human in the tvshow to explain what is she Queen of or her part in the vampire hierarchy. So I would say that they will explain that little bit in the season 3.
Another thing, I didn’t understood your question about the effects of the V in humans. If you’re referring to Jason and his girlfriend in the first season and Sookie now, I would say that what they mean is that when you feed directly from the source, form the vampire, it has different effects. I mean, Jason and his girlfriend were pretty close to feed from the vampire but they didn’t got sexual urges towards the poor gay vampire. But maybe I just didn’t got what you mean…
Maria:
I absolutely agree with your comments about Michelle Forbes. She did a fantastic job with that character by making her into a true villain. It was because of Michelle Forbes’ talent that the Maryann Forrester character was so real!
I like this site…good info. discovered it on AOL. will save it as a favorite.
