True_Blood_Season4_Episode12Boo hoo, it’s the last episode of the season and I’m already depressed that I don’t get to watch Eric looking at Sookie with adoration for the next year. But, they certainly did deliver an exciting end to season four of True Blood. Let’s do a recap…

Marnie took over Lafayette’s body and he’s having breakfast with Jesus outside on their patio. Jesus senses something is wrong but can’t pinpoint it until he bends over to give him a kiss and he realizes that it’s not just Lafayette inhabiting that body. And that’s when he stabs Jesus through the hand with a fork, pinning him to the table. Very Soprano-esque of Marnie.

Marnie is using Lafayette to force Jesus to give her his brujo magic. She said she’ll stab out Layfayette’s eye if Jesus doesn’t transfer his power. He gives in and as he starts to chant in Spanish, his demon face appears and she stabs him in the stomach, then licks the blood off the knife. Next thing you see, Layfayette has the demon face. Guess the transfer worked but poor Jesus, I really liked him a lot.

Alcide tells Sookie that it’s over for good with Debbie. He tells her that they should be together, it makes common sense – very romantic. She tries to stop him in his tracks but he asks her to listen to him, and to try harder to get the vampires out of her life. Alcide then gets a call to go check on a job site. He realizes that his site supervisor has been glamoured and the cement has been excavated. Now there’s a big hole where a certain vampire king used to be (remember the end of season 3?). Note to self – never leave a vampire alive – even if you do wrap him in silver and bury him under yards of cement. They always manage to get loose.

Tara goes to Lafayette’s house and the half open door forebodes that something bad has happened. When she goes in, she sees Jesus tied to a chair and obviously dead. She quickly drives to Merlotte’s and tells Holly and Sookie that Marnie is back. Now Sookie understands why she has not been able to contact Eric and Bill. Marnie has tied Eric and Bill to a stake with silver and she’s ready to burn them. I guess she wanted a good old burning at the stake to atone for what the vampires did to Antonia hundreds of years ago.

As they distract Marnie, Holly spreads salt in a circle around the pyre and the three women join hands to call forth all the dead ancestors to help them. Antonia shows up and even Sookie’s grandmother makes an appearance. Antonia blows the fire out under Bill and Eric and Sookie’s grandmother forcefully pulls Marnie out of Lafayette. She’s really scared to go onto the next plane but she finally agrees and all the spirits disappear. Looks like she got away with killing Jesus with no consequences, even in the afterlife.

Lafayette is devastated that he killed Jesus even though it was Marnie holding the knife. Next he sees Jesus in the corner and he comes out to tell Lafayette that it’s okay he was killed, he probably would have gotten cancer anyway. Jesus tells him to just keep breathing, that he’s a medium, he can see Jesus whenever he wants.

Sookie looks like she having an orgasm as both Eric and Bill are drinking from her wrists to recover from their burns. She tells them to stop and that she needs to talk with both of them. Her speech consists of telling them how she’s forgiven them the wrongs they have done to her in the past, but that no matter what she does, someone she loves always gets hurt. Eric looks hopeful, then Bill looks hopeful, then Eric looks hopeful – each one thinking she is going to choose him. But nobody gets chosen when she says she is leaving both of them – she is walking away from it all. Don’t know if I could do that.

Nan and her storm troopers are greeted by Bill at his house. She wants them to join her in her mutiny against the American Vampire League as well as the Authority. When Nan mentions their “little fairy waitress”, Eric rips off the heads of the storm troopers as Bill stabs her in the heart and she’s now a pile of vampire mush.

Sookie returns home to be greeted by Debbie Pelt with a shotgun. Debbie’s about to shoot her when Tara races into the room and pushes Sookie out of the way, getting shot in the head for her efforts. Sookie attacks Debbie, gets the gun and shoves it under Debbie’s chin. As Debbie begs for her life, Sookie pulls the trigger. No more Debbie. She then picks up Tara and starts screaming for help over and over. Season 4 of True Blood ends with the loss of a couple of major characters – Tara and Jesus. I’ll miss them both. But, it’s been a great ride.

True_Blood_Season4_Episode_8We left the last True Blood episode wondering if we were going to lose one of the main characters as Jessica opens the front door and emerges into the daylight propelled by the spell. Jason saves her and they share “a tongues down the throat” kiss on the floor before he takes her back down and re-wraps her in chains.

Eric tells Sookie that he needs to feed in order to recover from the damage the silver did. She lets him feed but only after exacting a promise from him that he won’t lose control and go into a vampire frenzy. He stops feeding to have her take some of his blood. He says now they are one. They are both lost in their lover’s world. There’s a weird shower scene where it starts to snow on them and they emerge into some woods where a bed awaits them and the sexin’ begins. Is this some kind of hallucination because they shared blood?

Luna’s ex is Marcus, the pack leader of the Shreveport pack. He’s in leadership mode, telling his pack that they need to stay away from the vampires. He wants nothing to do with the witch/vampire war. A young pup challenges him when he says that the vampires are more powerful than the werewolves but Marcus shuts him down – he’s a strong leader.

Sam goes back to visit Luna after he kicked Tommy out of his life. She’s still angry about having had sex with Tommy while he was shifted into Sam. She wants to know who he killed in order to become a skin walker and he tells her that Tommy killed their parents but it was no great loss. And Sam gains the okay to come back into the household.

Hoyt and Jessica break up when she tells him that she wants to move out. She does not want to live with him anymore because she can’t control her vampire hunger. You can see his heart break as he starts to cry. He blocks the door and won’t let her leave. She ends up killing him and walking outside covered in his blood – a sight that turns on Jason, who’s waiting in his truck for her. They are about to have sex when a blood donor wakes her up from this disturbing dream.

Vampire goo is all that’s left of Buela Carter. Andy gets down on his hands and knees and starts licking his lips at all that V lying there is a big mushy pile. He wants the V bad, he’s a true addict. Andy looks pathetic.

Bill calls Antonia with an apology and a proposal – meet at the cemetery at midnight, in peace and unarmed – and avoid a lot of useless death on both sides.

Debbie and Alcide are enjoying the evening when Marcus stops by and says how glad he is that Alcide is there. They break up a fight and Debbie is so proud of her man. Marcus tells Alcide that he’s an honorable man, he’s got alpha in him.

Mikey is sitting in the playpen with the nasty baby doll and Arlene and Terry are arguing over the fact that he’s got the baby in the kitchen with him. The ghost comes in and is singing to him when Lafayette comes in. The ghost glares at him and he backs out.

Hoyt and Jessica really break up this time and his reaction is not like it was in the dream. He doesn’t fall apart and beg her to stay. Instead, he’s very angry and he totally turns on her. He takes back her invitation and throws her out of the house.

Eric and Sookie are lying in bed talking about running away. It still sounds so weird to hear Eric say ‘my king’ all the time. Sookie wants them to go see Bill and pledge their support. Eric just wants to be with her forever. He’s so needy.

Lafayette dreams about the ghost and we learn her story. She’s bringing a baby doll home when she sees a car parked in her driveway. A white man comes out of her house and he says her baby is gone. She accuses him of killing her baby and it looks like he kills her too. When Lafayette wakes up, the woman is standing in his house and she possesses him. And she uses his body to go to the Bellefleur’s and kidnap baby Mikey.

Sookie and Eric pledge their support to Bill in his fight against the witches. It’s a cute moment when Eric says ‘my liege’ and Sookie says ‘my…my…my…Bill’.

A jealous Marcus stops by and it’s on. This guy has a serious anger issue which is not helped when Luna threatens to call his parole officer. Sam tries to be the peacemaker but there is no pacifying Marcus.

The witches and the vampires meet in the cemetery and everybody lied – they all brought backup and when Sookie hears Antonia casting a spell in her mind, the fight is on. Eric is acting like a total animal, ripping people’s hearts out and tearing out their throats. When he and Antonia come face to face, she utters another spell which drops him to his knees. He is totally hers and she smiles a very satisfied smile.

True Blood ends with Sookie getting shot and both Bill and Eric sense her distress. As she collapses to the ground, Alcide shows up and picks her up to take her to safety while Debbie watches him. Now all her jealous suspicions are confirmed.

Karma's a Bitch in True Blood Episode 7 - Hitting the Ground

Lorena finally gets what’s coming to her in True Blood Episode 7 as Sookie sinks a metal pole into her chest, turning her into a big pile of vampire mush. Looks like we are finally rid of that bitch. And speaking of getting rid of vampire assholes, the Magister loses his head after he is forced to marry Russell and Sophie-Ann. Sookie’s true identify is becoming the big mystery that everyone wants to solve in this week’s episode. Keep reading for some other highlights from Episode 7:

Highlights from Tonight’s Episode
Alcide and Tara rescue Sookie and a dying Bill from Lorena’s torture room and put them in the back of the van. Sookie opens up her wrist, pouring her blood into Bill’s mouth. He’s sucking for all he’s worth and then he starts biting. Wow, is this her thanks for rescuing him?

Sookie is dying when Alcide and Tara pull the van over and they race her to the hospital. Who thought it was a good idea to put a critically hurt vampire in the back of a van with a healthy human? Tara kicks Bill out of the van and he lands in the sun with little ill effects although he starts to smoke a bit.

Sam heads out to “redneck central” looking for dog fights. Sam the pit bull appears at the dog fighting ring and gets chained up, but Sam turns human and knocks him out with a punch. Go Sam! Sam pulls the alarm and rescues Tommy from the ring where he was getting his ass kicked by the rottweiler.

Eric brings Hadley to the queen, who’s sitting in a cage. Eric says he’ll drink from Hadley until the queen tells her why she has such a special interest in Sookie. Eric rips into Hadley’s throat as he continues to ask the queen about Sookie Stackhouse. Hadley says that she’ll tell Eric – Sookie is her cousin and then she whispers into Eric’s ear something to which he replies “well, I certainly wasn’t expecting that” and he meets the queen’s eyes.

Sookie is in emergency surgery thanks to Bill’s big drain-fest. Sookie has a major seizure and the doctor tells Tara and Alcide that they can find no blood type for Sookie – without one they can’t give her a transfusion and she’s in a coma. That’s when Jason notes that Sookie has never been sick, never been in a hospital – she was born at home. The mystery continues….

Sam tells his parents that he’s taking Tommy away from them and for Dad to give Tommy his clothes – the poor guy once again ends up standing in his tightie-whities. As Sam and Tommy walk away, it’s funny to see how well Dad’s clothes fit Tommy, especially since Dad is about six inches taller.

Jason keeps talking to Sookie in her coma, telling her that she is all he has, she has got to come back. Then there is a flash of light around Sookie and she is in another, beautiful world where she meets Claudine who gives her something to drink that makes her look happy and healthy. Claudine says Bill will steal Sookie’s “light”. “What light?” she asks as all the beautiful people disappear.

Bill appears in the hospital room – it looks like he survived his fall into the sun. Bill says his blood can save Sookie and Jason gives permission for Bill to give his blood over Tara’s vehement protests. Bill is sitting by Sookie’s bed when she comes awake and he looks so happy until she start screaming in his face. I guess it’s not going to be a happy reunion after all.

The Magister is torturing Pam by putting sterling silver earrings into her eyelids. Pam is defiant and caustic to the end. Eric arrives in the nick of time, revealing that Russell is now his king. As Russell tells the Magister that he is the authority in town, he whips Pam out of the silver chains and puts the Magister in them. The Magister is forced to marry the king and queen, pronouncing Russell and Sophie-Ann to be husband and wife. It’s certainly nice to see Pam again – I missed her last week.

True Blood Season 3 Episode 6 - I Got a Right to Sing the Blues

Matrimony and betrayal are in the air on this episode of True Blood as Russell, the king of Mississippi, asks Sophie Ann, the queen of Louisiana, to marry him. Is there anyone who isn’t getting married this season? Bill and Sookie, Franklin and Tara, and now the king of Mississippi and queen of Louisiana? Well, after seeing this episode, I don’t think Bill and Sookie will be getting married anytime soon – he’s not likely to be up and around for a while and she finds out he’s not all that he pretended to be. Here are some other highlights from Episode 6:

Highlights from Tonight’s Episode

The king drags Sookie back to his house where Bill tries a last ditch effort to save her but Eric intervenes and takes her back to the king…betrayed again! Now they know Bill has not been 100% honest with them. Sookie is so pissed at Eric but he just tells her to shut up, that she means nothing to him. And he looks like he means it when he says it.

Bill is taken to the slave quarters where Lorena chains him to the floor as she pulls out her little bag of torture instruments. She is quite the sadist and she is going to bleed Bill to death. It’s a nasty scene, he’s got pieces missing from him. Cooter and Debbie come in, looking for a little taste of Bill. Gross, Debbie starts licking all over him and they say they are going to turn him into a “fucking raisin”.

Russell wants to know what Sookie is and he’s not above torturing her to get it out of her. She says she’s just a waitress and then she kicks off a game of quid pro quo where they go back and forth on questions to each other. Sookie asks “is Lorena going to kill Bill?” To which the king asks her why does she care? And that’s when he tells her that Bill has been keeping a file on her and her family this whole time. She looks so shocked, you feel sorry for her. Russell says “oh sweetheart, you really don’t know anything do you?”

Arlene tells Jessica “please don’t kill me, I’m pregnant” when Jessica’s teeth pop out after Arlene cuts her hand. Uh-oh, I guess the secret’s out. Jessica puts the whammy on a grouchy customer who was being a bitch at Merlotte’s and she attacks her in the restroom. It looks like Pam’s advice is working – she got her dinner without killing the entree. Jessica is really coming into her own.

Lafayette and Jesus are hanging out together in Lafayette’s super-sports car that Eric gave him. They tell each other deep, dark secrets. These two share a hot kiss in the car, necking like two teenagers. Later, they arrive at Lafayette’s place but are interrupted by some rednecks who are trashing his car. These two kick some redneck ass but Jesus finds out in the process that Lafayette is a drug dealer. Looks like the honeymoon is over.

Tara is still tied to the bed – poor thing, I’d think her circulation would be cut off by now. She’s trying the charming routine on Franklin and it appears to work as he lets her go. She convinces him to let her bite him and she just rips and rips at his throat, digging in hard, it’s pretty nasty to see but Franklin appears to like it. That confirms the fact that he is a psycho.

Eric is doing a great job of charming Russell, he’s suspicious of Eric but seems to be allowing himself to be taken in. In their limo ride to the queen’s house, Russell describes his master plan – kill all the humans. Hmm, I wonder if they’ve thought where their food source will come from if they are successful? The king goes to see the queen and proposes but she rejects him. Eric takes the queen down hard when he realizes that she is the one who framed him with the Magister. He says he is Russell’s now and since Eric is stronger than she is, she agrees to the marriage. I wonder what Talbot will have to say about that!

It’s finally daytime and Tara grabs a mace from the wall and bashes Franklin’s head in. Whoa – it is smashed FLAT. He is going to be so mad at her, if she thought he was psycho before, she hasn’t seen anything yet, I suspect. Tara sneaks into Sookie’s room and they escape Russell’s house. Of course, Sookie won’t leave without Bill so she runs off to to find the slave quarters while Tara calls her an idiot. Sookie finds Bill still alive but then so is Lorena who grabs her and throws her across the room. And with a vicious neck bite from Lorena, this week’s episode ends with a scream.

Who's Going to be a Vampire Bride in True Blood Episode 5 - Trouble

The creep factor ratcheted up quite a few notches this week as Franklin keeps Tara locked up with him in the king’s house and he finally confesses that he wants her to be his vampire bride. Poor girl, she can’t win…she finds a guy who’s crazy for her and he’s a psycho. Some other highlights from Episode 5:

Highlights from Tonight’s Episode

Tara is stuck as Franklin’s plaything, he’s considers her to be “spectacularly different”. Franklins says that Tara is such a fucking disaster, the two of them could be twins. What a compliment…

The king of Mississippi is disturbingly interested in Sookie, especially when he finds out that Bill was keeping a dossier on Sookie and her family tree. Eric arrives at the king’s house, meeting Talbot, the royal consort. Talbot is quite fascinated with him. Eric tells the king that he wants to hunt Bill Compton in his area, when much to his surprise, Bill walks in and the two of them engage in one of their famous glaring contests. No love lost there.

Franklin has Tara tied to the bed, he put her in a new gown that he bought her. Franklin is obsessed with her and he’s jealous of Layfayette texting her. At one point he says “watch how fast I text”. That was pretty amusing, watching a vampire brag about their texting skills. Tara gets away during the day while all the vampires are in their daylight sleeping mode. Unfortunately, she can’t get away from Franklin that easily, especially when a werewolf runs her down.

Jason shows up at the sheriff’s department, waiting to start his new job. Andy gives him a desk and puts him on phone duty. Jason is out washing police cars when he sees a hot girl drive by in a pickup. He pulls her over – shirtless – and asks for her license and registration. She challenges him and says no, she doesn’t think he’s a cop. All he gets out of her is her name, Crystal. He begs her to meet him at Merlotte’s but she just drives away. Jason? Shirtless? And the girl just drives away?

Alcide wants to tell his packmaster about Debbie and what happened at her initiation where the King of Mississippi gave his blood to the werewolves. The packmaster, Colonel Flood, says there’s nothing he can do about the king – he wants to ignore the problem and just wait for it go away. That’s a can-do attitude!

Layfayette and Sam’s brother Tommy are smoking cigars together when his mother’s nurse Jesus shows up. Layfayette is having a hard time accepting that Jesus came over just to see him. Nice to see Layfayette flustered for a change.

Tara is tied up again by Franklin and he’s having a major crying jag over the idea that she tried to leave him. She mollifies him by apologizing profusely and acting like she wants to be with him. That girl has some good acting skills.

The king questions Bill on why he was investigating Sookie and her genealogy. It appears that Bill is no longer on the king’s list of favorites since he has him escorted to his room under guard. Bill finds out that Sookie is in Mississippi and escapes, racing out to try and warn her.

Jason sees Crystal in Merlotte’s parking lot – it looks like she showed up after all. She tells him to stay away from her but they end up making out by the water. Good old Jason, he’s still got his mojo after all.

At the king’s house, Lorena comes down the stairs and sees Eric. They both say “YOU” with disdain so it appears there is some history there.

Bill shows up at Alcide’s place trying to warn Sookie off but in her own annoying way, she won’t listen to him and keeps demanding an explanation. Just then, the king and his minions show up, planning to take Sookie with them. This week’s episode ends with a werewolf attacking Sookie, who knocks him off with a blast of white light, much to the king’s surprise and pleasure. It looks like Sookie has become a hot commodity in the vampire world.

Episode 4 - 9 Crimes

This week’s episode had some great one (or two) liners. It was another great show especially with a hot fantasy scene between Eric and Sookie. Let’s take a look:

The 10 Best Quotes from Tonight’s Episode

1. “That’s the best sex I’ve had in decades” Lorena says as she cracks her neck, adjusting it after Bill’s Exorcist move during their sex scene at the end of last week’s episode.

2. “Shut the fuck up!” Sookie says as Bill calls and tells her he is leaving his life in Bon Temps. He is with Lorena now and they just got done making love as only two vampires can. He does not have to hold back with her like he does with Sookie. He is death, he will bring Sookie only suffering. They were doomed from the start….I think you actually hear her heart breaking.

3. “I don’t have a nut sack” Sookie responds to Alcide when he says relationships kick you in the nut sack as he tries to console her after Bill’s brutal breakup phone call.

4. “At least let me go put on a shirt” Alcide says..…NOOOOOOOOOO!

5. “Sometimes I think that boys cheese done slid off his cracker” Tommy’s mother says after Sam catches Tommy trying to break into him safe. “That boy makes my ass itch” Tommy’s father contributes.

6. “Can all vampires fly?” Sookie asks Eric as he appears dangling in thin air outside her upper story window. “Can all humans sing?” Eric replies and they proceed to the beginning of a hot sex scene that ends up being Eric’s fantasy. He’s got it bad for her.

7. “I can’t stop thinking about you” Franklin tells Tara when he brings her flowers as she’s sitting tied up in the bathroom. He duct tapes the flowers into her hands. This guy is too creepy…

8. “My folks won’t be coming around anymore” Sam tells Arlene to which Terry replies, “You sure they know that? Because they’re grilling in the parking lot”.

9. “Get your fucking hands off me dead man”, Calvin says to Eric as Eric lifts him up by the neck, throwing Calvin’s people off Layfayette who they were beating up. Eric says “let’s go Rue Paul” after he trashes all the troublemakers. What a pair these two make.

10. “This is kidnapping” Tara says as she and Franklin are driving down the road with her flowers taped into her hands. “This is opportunity” Franklin tells her as she begs him to tell her where they are going. I think Tara is in some serious trouble.

And of course, no episode of True Blood is complete without a naked man appearing somewhere. Sam finds Tommy lying naked out in the woods and they have a talk. It looks like these two might be forming a bond. Or is Tommy just being deceptive again?

Who Kidnapped Bill on True Blood? So, who do you think kidnapped Bill in the season finale of True Blood Season 2?

If you’ll remember, Sookie and Bill were enjoying a romantic dinner alone. Bill had gone to the trouble of renting out an entire restaurant for the event. Bill is such the Southern gentleman isn’t he?

Bill and Sookie have a wonderful time together. He looks fantastic in his tuxedo and Sookie looks gorgeous in a lilac dress that he bought for her (didn’t she look great?).

And then the big moment occurs: Bill proposes to Sookie and gives her a ring.

She’s shocked of course (as are we) and doesn’t immediately give him an answer. Instead she excuses herself and goes to the ladies room. While there she ponders his proposal and looks lovingly at the ring. She then makes up her mind – she’s going to accept!

She bounces out of the ladies room only to find Bill gone. Vanished. As if he’s disappeared into thin air.

But we know different. We saw that a silver chain had been wrapped around his neck from behind and that he’d been forcefully pulled away.

So, WHO DUN IT?

The Likely Suspects

  • Eric: throughout True Blood Season 2 Eric appears to resent the relationship between Bill and Sookie. He makes a pledge to the Queen of Louisiana to “get Bill” for her. Which leads me to the next suspect.
  • Queen Sophie: I’m not sure what the Queen has against Bill. Perhaps she’s annoyed that he’s not big on toying with humans like she is. Perhaps she’s pissed off because he didn’t bow and scrape in front of her. Not sure what’s going on with her but she may very well have had a hand in his abduction. Perhaps she and Eric are working together?

I personally think both Eric and Queen Sophie are too obvious and probably aren’t directly responsible. If you’re a True Blood fan you know that Alan Ball doesn’t do obvious. He’s always full of surprises. Therefore, I’m going to suggest something else.

Other Potential Kidnappers

  • Lafayette: yes, it’s perhaps a stretch but I wonder if Lafayette does this at Eric’s command. Think about it, would Eric himself kidnap Bill? No, he’d have someone else do his dirty work for him. If Lafayette kidnapped Bill it would create a different angle on the relationship between he and Sookie. It would also provide Eric with a steady source of V which he’s forcing Lafayette to sell. He could slowly drain Bill until he dies. Or at least, that would be the plan.
  • Leona: when we last saw Leona she was shunned by Bill. I was a bit surprised at that since she’s Bill’s maker. I wouldn’t think he’d be powerful enough to do that. Also, if you’ve read the books you know that Leona plays a significant role in Bill and Sookie’s relationship. I won’t say more in case you haven’t read Book 3, Club Dead.
  • Tara: Tara was pretty devastated when Eggs was killed in the True Blood finale. Could Tara be jealous of Sookie and Bill’s relationship? I think this one’s a pretty big stretch but I thought I’d throw it in for giggles. Also, I’m not totally convinced that we’ve seen the last of Maryann’s influence. I wouldn’t be surprised if maenads aren’t somehow reincarnated in some way.
  • The Fellowship of the Sun: if I’ve said it once I’ve said it 10 times: the vampires should have taken out Steve Newlin and Sarah Big Hair when they had the chance. The Fellowship of the Sun won’t stop simply because the vampires were merciful. Case in point, even though the vampires let members of the group live they still booby-trapped one of their followers (sorry, I can’t seem to remember his name) and sent him on a suicide bomber mission. By the way, isn’t booby-trapped one of the funniest words around? When I think of that word I envision some big breasted female villain from a bad 70′s B-movie who has some poor guy trapped between her . . . oops, sorry – I digress. Nonetheless, I think it’s highly likely that they’re responsible for kidnapping Bill.

So what do YOU think? Who do you think kidnapped Bill?
