the bible repairman by Tim Powers Title: The Bible Repairman
Author: Tim Powers
Release: Oct. 31 2011
Pages: 200
Genre: Fantasy

Tim Powers happens to be one of my favorite authors, so when I saw this book listed to come out soon from Amazon, I just had to share it with you. For a taste, here is what his publisher’s have released to let you know what to expect.

The Bible Repairman is Tim Powers’s first new collection since Strange Itineraries appeared in 2005, and it is well worth the wait. In five stories and an ambitious historical novella, it offers one example after another of the author’s wit, ingenuity, and sheer imaginative reach.

The title story takes us into the life of a man with a most unusual profession, one that claims a little bit of his soul with every transaction. ‘Parallel Lives’ and ‘A Soul in a Bottle’ are thematically linked ghost stories in which the dead attempt, with varying degrees of success, to exert their influence upon the living. In ‘The Hour of Babel,’ an assortment of damaged people experience, once again, the inexplicable encounter that altered their lives more than thirty years before, while in ‘A Journey of Only Two Paces’ a simple legal procedure is transformed into a nightmarish Kabbalistic ritual.

But the real centerpiece of this resonant collection is the novella ‘A Time to Cast Away Stones,’ previously available only in a very limited–and very expensive–edition. Set in the semi-fictional universe first described in The Stress of Her Regard, this beautifully realized narrative centers upon Edward John Trelawny, a contemporary and compatriot of the poets Byron and Shelley, and the momentous decision that faces him. In classic Powers fashion, the story shows us an actual, if little known, historical event reclaimed and transformed by a powerful imagination. The result is a distinctive contribution to modern fantasy and a significant milestone in a unique, constantly evolving career.

But don’t take their word for it – or mine! Check this one out. I know I have mine on order already!

The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter fantasy series is perhaps Laurell K. Hamilton’s best known work. The series follows the life of Anita Blake who is born a ‘Necromancer.’ This gives Anita the ability to control Zombies and Vampires, basically, the living dead. If you love mysteries and the supernatural, then this is the series for you! I must caution you though that after Incubus Dreams (Book 12), I witnessed both Anita’s character and the storylines become increasingly overshadowed by the prevalence of graphic sex. As such, some of the later books can appropriately be labeled as erotica.

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton Guilty Pleasures (Book 1)

Published more than ten years ago, Guilty Pleasures marked the debut of a writer who was destined to grow from cult favorite to a major bestselling author. In Guilty Pleasures Hamilton introduces Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter. Anita is small, dark, and dangerous.

But when the city s most powerful vampire comes to her for help, Anita is faced with her greatest fear a man capable of arousing in her a hunger strong enough to match his own. He is Jean Claude, the master vampire destined to become not only her biggest nemesis, but her greatest lover.

The Laughing Corpse by Laurell K. Hamilton The Laughing Corpse (Book 2)

The Laughing Corpse takes readers back to a time when Anita’s life was a bit less complicated.

As the best Animator in the business-she’s as good at raising the dead as she is at slaying the undead-she crosses paths with a creature from beyond the grave, a super-powerful zombie who is tearing a swath of murder through the city.

And she discovers that there are some secrets better left buried-and some people better left dead.

Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton Circus of the Damned (Book 3)

When a powerful centuries-old vampire hits Anita Blake’s town, a battle of the undead ensues.

In Circus of the Damned a rogue master vampire hits town, and Anita gets caught in the middle of an undead turf war. Jean-Claude, the Master Vamp of the city, wants her for his own-but his enemies have other plans.

And to make matters worse, Anita takes a hit to the heart when she meets a stunningly handsome junior high science teacher named Richard Zeeman. They’re two humans caught in the crossfire. Or so Anita thinks…

The Lunatic Cafe by Laurell K. Hamilton The Lunatic Cafe (Book 4)

Anita has fallen for the leader of a local pack of werewolves. She’s survived a lot, but this love thing may kill her yet.

In Laurell K. Hamilton’s New York Times bestselling novels, Vampire Hunter and zombie animator Anita Blake is an expert at sniffing out the bad from the good. But she’s about to learn that nothing is ever as it seems-especially in matters of the not-so-human heart…

Dating a werewolf with self-esteem issues is stressing Anita out. Especially when something-or someone-starts taking out the city’s shapeshifters.

Bloody Bones by Laurell K. Hamilton Bloody Bones (Book 5)

A look that kills for the fifth Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novel. Here’s a job to strain even Anita Blake’s capabilities: raising an entire graveyard of two-hundred-year-old corpses.

For the first time in trade paperback: the fifth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave— four unsolved murders—it doesn’t take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita Blake is an expert in the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she’s got an “in” with the creature that can make sense of the slayings––the sexy master vampire known as Jean-Claude.

The Killing Dance by Laurell K. Hamilton The Killing Dance (Book 6)

The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter backlist-now dangerously beautiful. In her sixth adventure, Anita becomes a wanted woman-by a vampire, a werewolf, and a creature far more terrifying: a man who puts a price on her head.

Dating both a vampire and a werewolf isn’t easy. But just to complicate Anita’s already messy life, someone has put a price on her head. Love cannot save her this time, so she turns to Edward, hitman extraordinaire, for help. But finding the person behind the threat won’t be easy, because as both a vampire hunter and zombie reanimator, Anita has made a lot of enemies-both human and otherwise.

Burnt Offerings by Laurell K. Hamilton Burnt Offerings (Book 7)

Anita Blake is a vampire hunter. But when someone else sets his sights on her prey, she must save them both from the inferno.

In Laurell K. Hamilton’s New York Times bestselling novels, it’s often hard to tell the good from the evil. Just ask Anita Blake. She seems to be developing a soft spot in her heart for vampires-one in particular.

So, when an arsonist’s fires begin licking at St. Louis’s undead, it’s up to Anita to save the very monsters she’s sworn to destroy.

Blue Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton Blue Moon (Book 8 )

The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter backlist lights up the night.

In her eighth adventure, Anita Blake can’t turn her back on a former lover during the full moon. Especially since he’s behind bars-and he’s a werewolf…

When she chose master vampire Jean- Claude over her ex-fiancé, alpha werewolf Richard Zeeman, Anita learned that sometimes love is not enough. But though she and Richard won’t be walking down any aisles, she can’t turn her back on him when he’s arrested on a rape charge in Tennessee. Anita knows firsthand that Richard has the morals of a saint—or at least a boy scout. But his guilt or innocence is not the issue. He’s behind bars, and in five days a full moon will rise…

Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton Obsidian Butterfly (Book 9)

The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter backlist takes flight with a whole new look.

In her ninth adventure, vampire hunter Anita Blake owes a favor to a friend-a man almost as dangerous as the ancient evil she’s about to face.

There are a lot of monsters in Anita Blake’s life. And some of them are human. One such individual is the man she calls Edward, a bounty hunter who specializes in the preternatural. He calls her to help him hunt down the greatest evil she has ever encountered. Something that kills and maims and vanishes into the night. Something Anita will have to face alone…

Narcissus in Chains by Laurell K. HamiltonNarcissus in Chains (Book 10)

In her tenth adventure, nothing can save vampire hunter Anita Blake from a twist of fate that draws her ever closer to the brink of humanity.

Six months of celibacy have made Anita crave the two men in her life like never before.

But merging their powers together will give this mortal woman a taste of immortal hunger that she’ll never be able to forget…

Cerulean Sins by Laurell K. Hamilton Cerulean Sins (Book 11)

With her New York Times bestselling Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novels, Laurell K. Hamilton wraps readers up in stories of suspense and sensuality. Cerulean Sins is no exception.

Now, Anita learns what it’s like to be at the new end of a centuries-old bloodline-and just how far she’ll let herself get pushed around by one of the oldest vampires alive…or should we say dead?

Vampire hunter Anita Blake learns what it’s like to be at the new end of a centuries-old bloodline-and just how far she’ll let herself get pushed around.

Incubus Dreams by Laurell K. Hamilton Incubus Dreams (Book 12)

Vampire hunter Anita Blake finds her life is more complicated than ever, caught as she is between her obligations to the living-and the undead.

No one is as good at stripping bare the dark desires of the inhuman soul as Laurell K. Hamilton, something she has proven time after time in her New York Times bestselling Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novels. Now, in Incubus Dreams, Anita’s life is more complicated than ever, as she is caught between her obligations to the living and the undead.

A vampire serial killer who preys on strippers is on the loose. Called in to consult on the case, Anita fears her judgment may be clouded by a conflict of interest. For she is, after all, the consort of Jean-Claude, the ever-intoxicating Master Vampire of the City. Surrounded by suspicion, overwhelmed by her attempts to control the primal lusts that continue to wrack her as a result of her passionate contacts with vampires, werewolves, and the shapeshifter Micah, Anita does something unprecedented: She calls for help.

Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton Micah (Book 13)

Vampire hunter Anita Blake is called on to raise the dead-while trying to suppress her ever-growing feelings for a certain wereleopard.

“RAISING THE DEAD IS EASY. LOVE IS HARD…”

There are lots of reasons to raise the dead-some private, some public. In this case, the feds have a witness who died before he could speak on the record. They want him raised so his testimony can be taken. So here I am, on a plane to Philadelphia, flying off to do my job.

But I’m not alone. Micah is with me. Micah, head of the St. Louis wereleopard pard. King to my Queen. The only one of my lovers who can stir my blood with just a glance from his chartreuse cat’s eyes. I was happy to have him at my side.

Until he mentioned that this will be our first time alone together. No Master Vampire. No Alpha Werewolf. Just me and Micah. And all my fears and doubts…

Danse Macabre by Laurell K. Hamilton Danse Macabre (Book 14)

It was the middle of November. I was supposed to be out jogging, but instead I was sitting at my breakfast table talking about men, sex, werewolves, vampires, and that thing that most unmarried but sexually active women fear most…

Anita Blake needs to be concentrating on a dangerous situation: the ardeur, the sexual power that flows between Anita and Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City, and Richard, the volatile werewolf who loves her passionately, is reaching new levels, perhaps evolving into something altogether new. The ardeur seems to be choosing new lovers for Anita, acting with a will of its own. As Jean-Claude says, the ardeur is hunting powerful prey. The unexpected effect of this is that Jean-Claude’s own power as a master vampire has grown to new levels — and Richard, never predictable, is changing too.

But as the days pass, Anita’s less interested in vampire politics than in an ancient, ordinary dread she shares with women down the ages: she may be pregnant. And, if she is, whether the father is a vampire, a werewolf, or someone else entirely, she knows perfectly well that being a Federal Marshall, known for raising the dead and being a vampire executioner, is no way to bring up a baby…

The Harlequin by Laurell K. Hamilton The Harlequin (Book 15)

Into Anita Blake’s world-a world already overflowing with power-come creatures so feared that centuries-old vampires refuse to mention their names.

Anita Blake is about to face the challenge of her life. Into her world-a world already overflowing with power-have come creatures so feared that powerful, centuries-old vampires refuse to mention their names. It is forbidden to speak of The Harlequin unless you’ve been contacted. And to be contacted by The Harlequin is to be under sentence of death.

Long-time rivals for Anita’s affections, Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City, and Richard, alpha-werewolf, will need to become allies. Shapeshifters Nathaniel and Micah will have to step up their support. And then there’s Edward. In this situation, Anita knows that she needs to call the one man who has always been there for her…

Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton Blood Noir (Book 16)

Readers can’t get enough of the #1 New York Times bestselling author.

A favor for a friend puts Anita Blake in the center of a full-blown scandal that threatens master vampire Jean- Claude’s reign-and makes her a pawn in an ancient vampire queen’s new rise to power.

Skin Trade by Laurell K. Hamilton Skin Trade (Book 17)

When a vampire serial killer sends Anita Blake a grisly souvenir from Las Vegas, she has to warn Sin City’s local authorities what they’re dealing with. Only it’s worse than she thought.

Ten officers and one executioner have been slain-paranormal style. Anita heads to Vegas, where’s she’s joined by three other federal marshals, including the ruthless Edward. It’s a good thing he always has her back, because when she gets close to the bodies, Anita senses “tiger” too strongly to ignore it.

The weretigers are very powerful in Las Vegas, which means the odds of her rubbing someone important the wrong way just got a lot higher.

Flirt by Laurell K. Hamilton Flirt (Book 18)

Anita Blake has been asked to raise the dead-but the results aren’t going to make everybody happy…

When Anita Blake meets with prospective client Tony Bennington, who is desperate to have her reanimate his recently deceased wife, she is full of sympathy for his loss. Anita knows something about love, and she knows everything there is to know about loss.

But what she also knows, though Tony Bennington seems unwilling to be convinced, is that the thing she can do as a necromancer isn’t the miracle he thinks he needs. The creature that Anita could coerce to step out of the late Mrs. Bennington’s grave would not be the lovely Mrs. Bennington. Not really. And not for long.

Bullet by Laurell K. Hamilton Bullet (Book 19)

The music came back up and the next group of little girls, slightly older, came out. There was a lot of that in the next hour and change. I liked dance, and it was no reflection on the kids, but my will to live began to seep away on about the fifth group of sequined children…

Anita Blake is back in St. Louis and trying to live a normal life-as normal as possible for someone who is a legal vampire executioner and a U. S. Marshal. There are lovers, friends and their children, school programs to attend. In the midst of all the ordinary happiness a vampire from Anita’s past reaches out. She was supposed to be dead, killed in an explosion, but the Mother of All Darkness is the first vampire, their dark creator. It’s hard to kill a god. This dark goddess has reached out to her here-in St. Louis, home of everyone Anita loves most. The Mother of All Darkness has decided she has to act now or never, to control Anita, and all the vampires in America.

The Mother of All Darkness believes that the triumvirate created by master vampire Jean-Claude with Anita and the werewolf Richard Zeeman has enough power for her to regain a body and to immigrate to the New World. But the body she wants to possess is already taken. Anita is about to learn a whole new meaning to sharing her body, one that has nothing to do with the bedroom. And if the Mother of All Darkness can’t succeed in taking over Anita’s body for herself, she means to see that no one else has the use of it, ever again. Even Belle Morte, not always a friend to Anita, has sent word: “Run if you can…”

Hit List by Laurell K. Hamilton Hit List (Book 20)

A serial killer is hunting the Pacific Northwest, murdering victims in a gruesome and spectacular way. The local police suspect “monsters” are involved, and have called in Anita Blake and Edward, U.S. Marshals who really know their monsters, to catch the killer.

If you love this series (which I’m sure you would), be sure to check out the sequels – The Liveship Traders Trilogy, The Tawny Man Trilogy and The Rain Wilds Chronicles.

The Farseer Trilogy follows the adventures of FitzChivalry Farseer (Fitz), who is an assassin by profession in The Six Duchies kingdom.

Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb Assassin’s Apprentice (Book 1)

Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father’s gruff stableman. He is treated like an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him sectetly tutored in the arts of the assassin.

For in Fitz’s blood runs the magic Skill–and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family. As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom.

Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb Royal Assassin (Book 2)

Young Fitz, the illegitimate son of the noble Prince Chivalry, is ignored by all royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has had him tutored him in the dark arts of the assassin. He has barely survived his first, soul-shattering mission, and returns to the court where he is thrown headfirst into the tumult of royal life.

With the King near death, and Fitz’s only ally off on a seemingly hopeless quest, the throne itself is threatened. Meanwhile, the treacherous Red Ship Raiders have renewed their attacks on the Six Duchies, slaughtering the inhabitants of entire seaside towns. In this time of great peril, it soon becomes clear that the fate of the kingdom may rest in Fitz’s hands–and his role in its salvation may require the ultimate sacrifice.

Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb Assassin’s Quest (Book 3)

From an extraordinary new voice in fantasy comes the stunning conclusion to the Farseer trilogy, as FitzChivalry confronts his destiny as the catalyst who holds the fate of the kingdom of the Six Duchies…and the world itself.

King Shrewd is dead at the hands of his son Regal. As is Fitz–or so his enemies and friends believe. But with the help of his allies and his beast magic, he emerges from the grave, deeply scarred in body and soul. The kingdom also teeters toward ruin: Regal has plundered and abandoned the capital, while the rightful heir, Prince Verity, is lost to his mad quest–perhaps to death. Only Verity’s return–or the heir his princess carries–can save the Six Duchies.

But Fitz will not wait. Driven by loss and bitter memories, he undertakes a quest: to kill Regal. The journey casts him into deep waters, as he discovers wild currents of magic within him–currents that will either drown him or make him something more than he was….

The Riley Jenson Guardian fantasy series is author Keri Arthur’s best known work. The plot line revolves around protagonist Riley Jensen. Jensen is a of the rare type – he is half vampire and half werewolf and he also has a twin named Rhoan. Jensen works for the Directorate of Other Races in Melbourne, which was created to keep the supernatural races under check.

Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur Full Moon Rising (Book 1)

In this exciting debut, author Keri Arthur explodes onto the supernatural scene with a sexy, sensuous tale of intrigue and suspense set in a world where legends walk and the shady paths of the underworld are far more sinister than anyone envisioned.

A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races, an organization created to police the supernatural races–and protect humans from their depredations. While Rhoan is an exalted guardian, a.k.a. assassin, Riley is merely an office worker–until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse. More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the weeklong period before the full moon, when her need to mate becomes all-consuming.…

Luckily Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she’s going to find her brother….Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful–and delectably naked–vamp who raises her temperature like never before.

In matters carnal, Riley has met her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior–by tapping into the genome of nonhumans like Rhoan. Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind–and just how much it needs her.

Kissing Sin by Keri Arthur Kissing Sin (Book 2)

From Melbourne’s gleaming skyscrapers to its throbbing nightclubs, Riley Jenson’s world is raging with danger and desire. A drop-dead-gorgeous werewolf–with a touch of vamp coursing in her blood–Riley works for an organization created to police the supernatural races. But when she wakes up naked and bruised in a barren alley, she knows only that she must run for her life.

Within moments Riley collides with the sexiest man she’s ever seen: steely, seductive Kade, who is fighting a life-and-death battle of his own. With old lovers and enemies gathering around her, Riley knows she is being pursued by a new kind of criminal. Because in Riley’s blood is a secret that could create the ultimate warrior–if only she can survive her own dangerous desires….

Tempting Evil by Keri Arthur Tempting Evil (Book 3)

In a world of sorcery and seduction, the nights bring out the beautiful, the damned, and the desired. Here, Riley Jenson is on her own–half werewolf, half vampire, working for an organization created to police the supernatural races. Trusting her superiors and lovers barely more than she trusts her worst enemies, Riley plays by her own set of rules. Her latest mission: to enter the heavily guarded pleasure palace of a criminal named Deshon Starr–a madman-scientist who’s been messing around in the gene pool for decades.

With two sexy men–a cool, seductive vampire and an irresistibly hot wolf–vying for her attention, Riley must keep focused. Because saving the world from Deshon Starr will mean saving herself–from the trap that’s closing in around her. . . .

Dangerous Games by Keri Arthur Dangerous Games (Book 4)

In Melbourne’s urban underworld, there’s a nightclub for every fantasy and desire. But for Riley Jenson, one such club has become an obsession. Riley, a rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, hasn’t come in pursuit of pleasure but of an unknown killer who’s been using the steamy nightspot as his hunting grounds.

Leave it to Riley to find the only ticket into the heavily guarded club: Jin, a deliciously hot-bodied bartender who might just provide the key to unmasking a killer unlike any other in the Directorate’s experience. Taunted by a former colleague turned rogue, distracted by an ex-lover’s attentions, Riley follows Jin into a realm of pleasure she could never have imagined. And as danger and passion ignite, a shocking mystery begins to unravel—one where Riley herself becomes the ultimate object of desire….

Embraced by Darkness by Keri Arthur Embraced by Darkness (Book 5)

She’s hunting a killer—
and shattering every boundary—
she’s ever known.…

Part vamp, part werewolf, Riley Jenson plays by her own rules, whether it’s her stormy love life or her job as a guardian. But when her family’s alpha male demands that she solve the mystery of a vanished girl, Riley can feel a trap closing in around her. Because the job comes with a catch: if Riley fails, her own mother will die.

Now the stakes are raised, the hunt is on…and when more women vanish, Riley is caught between a lover who demands that she give up her work, a serial killer who knows no boundaries, and a club where humans and supernaturals mix—at their own peril. Thrust into a realm of seduction and violence unlike any she could have imagined, Riley has to battle to save everything she holds dear. But the ultimate hunt has only just begun….

The Darkest Kiss by Keri Arthur The Darkest Kiss (Book 6)

Danger turns her on.
Desire turns her dangerous…

Riley Jenson hunts evildoers—and does it with a style all her own. With vamp blood coursing her through her veins, and a werewolf’s uncanny instinct for danger, Riley wears snakeskin stilettos and pure, in-your-face attitude when she plunges into her latest case: hunting down a killer whose victims are high-society strumpets—and the rich and powerful men they’ve dated.

But for Riley, the case takes a chilling turn when a second killer starts trailing mutilated bodies of his own: a crazed young vamp choosing victims from a past marked by tragedy. Riley knows she’s got the skill and cunning to catch two serial killers at once…until one of them strikes inside her own tight-knit clan—and a sexy beast of a vampire reenters her life to aid in the hunt. His name is Quinn. He’s lived forever, shed blood, and shared pleasure…and he’s the only man over whom Riley has absolutely no control….

Deadly Desire by Keri Arthur Deadly Desire (Book 7)

Seduction that kills. Pleasure to die for.
She just can’t resist . . .

Guardian Riley Jenson always seems to face the worst villains. And this time’s no different. For it’s no ordinary sorceress who can raise the dead to do her killing. But that’s exactly what Riley expects to find at the end of a trail of female corpses used—and discarded—in a bizarre ritual of evil. With pressure mounting to catch one fiend, another series of brutal slayings shocks the vampire world of her lover, Quinn. So the last thing Riley needs is the heat of the upcoming full moon bringing her werewolf hormones to a boil—or the reappearance of a sexy bounty hunter, the rogue wolf Kye Murphy.

Riley has threatened Murphy with arrest if he doesn’t back off the investigation, but it’s Riley who feels handcuffed by Kye’s lupine charm. Torn between her vamp and wolf natures, between her love for Quinn and her hots for Kye, Riley knows she’s courting danger and indulging the deadliest desires. For her hunt through the supernatural underworld will bring her face-to-face with what lurks in a darkness where even monsters fear to tread.

Bound to Shadows by Keri Arthur Bound to Shadows (Book 8 )

In the darkness, demons come out to play . . .
and someone must bring their sins to light.

Part vampire, part werewolf, Riley Jenson knows what can happen when vamps don’t play well with others. But she’s never seen anything like this: a series of brutal murders surrounding the latest hot spot for vampire-human hookups—and the victims aren’t just killed, they’re beheaded. Now Riley is launching into action, toying with a seductive—and highly suspicious—club owner, and finding herself in the middle of another mystery: women being killed one by one, without a trace of violence.

For Riley, solving multiple cases—in a world going mad with human and vampire passions—would have been tough enough. Instead she has two jealous lovers on her hands: Kye Murphy, the amber-eyed werewolf who makes Riley’s wolf blood howl—and Quinn, the cool, elegant vamp who has over a thousand years’ experience at fulfilling women’s desires. While she’s busy juggling these two sexy beasts, Riley’s detective work takes a stunningly violent turn. Finding a murderer is now a matter of life and death. Especially since the killer has long since found her . . .

Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur Moon Sworn (Book 9)

Some nights never end.
Some desires never die. . . .

Shape-shifting werewolf and vampire Riley Jenson is through with death—causing it, solving it, surviving it. Her soul mate, Kye Murphy, is dead—and at Riley’s own hands. Not even the seductive embrace of her vampire lover, Quinn, can fully ease her mind, for she has begun questioning everything that makes her Riley—including her job at the Directorate.

Now, the ritualistically slain bodies of ex-cons have started turning up. Reluctantly, Riley takes the case, but something even worse is waiting in the wings. A vicious enemy from her past is determined to strip Riley of everything that gives her life any meaning: her lover, her brother—and even her own identity. Can Riley survive this ultimate assault? All she knows is, she must fight one last time to find answers, before everything goes dark forever.

After Cassiel and Warden Luis Rocha rescue an adept child from a maniacal Djinn, they realize two things: the girl is already manifesting an incredible amount of power, and her kidnapping was not an isolated incident.

This Djinn-aided by her devoted followers-is capturing children all over the world, and indoctrinating them so she can use their strength for herself. With no other options, Cassiel infiltrates the Djinn’s organization-because if Cassiel cannot stop the Djinn’s apocalyptic designs, all of humanity may be destroyed.

The Darkest Power series is a set of paranormal fantasy books by Kelley Armstrong. The plot revolves around a bunch of supernatural scientists called The Edison Group and the their experiments. The author Kelley Armstrong, has further divided the series into trilogies.

The Darkest Powers trilogy

The first in the series is The Darkest Powers trilogy. These stories are told from the point of view of Chloe Saunders, a fifteen-year-old necromancer, as she and her friends escape The Edison Group.

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong The Summoning (Book 1)

My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.

All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don’t even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.

Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won’t leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a “special home” for troubled teens. Yet the home isn’t what it seems. Don’t tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It’s up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong The Awakening (Book 2)

You don’t have to be alive to be awakened.

Chloe Saunders is a living science experiment—not only can she see ghosts, but she was genetically altered by a sinister organization called the Edison Group. She’s a teenage necromancer whose powers are out of control, which means she can raise the dead without even trying.

Now Chloe’s running for her life with three of her supernatural friends—a charming sorcerer, a cynical werewolf, and a disgruntled witch—and they have to find someone who can help them before the Edison Group catches them.

Or die trying.

The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong The Reckoning (Book 3)

The gripping finale to the New York Times bestselling Darkest Powers trilogy!

In the end, there’s always a reckoning.

Chloe Saunders’s life is not what you would call normal. First of all, she can’t figure out how she feels about a certain antisocial werewolf or his charming brother—who just happens to be a sorcerer. Then there’s the fact that she’s running for her life from an evil corporation that’s trying to kill her and her supernatural friends. And finally, she’s a genetically altered necromancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying.

Not normal.

But Chloe has a plan. And the end is very near.

The Darkness Rising trilogy

The second trilogy in the series ‘The Darkness Rising’ follows a sixteen-year-old girl named Maya Delaney.

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong The Gathering (Book 1)

Strange things are happening in Maya’s tiny Vancouver Island town. First, her friend Serena, the captain of the swim team, drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. Then, one year later, mountain lions are spotted rather frequently around Maya’s home—and her reactions to them are somewhat . . . unexpected. Her best friend, Daniel, has also been experiencing unexplainable premonitions about certain people and situations.

It doesn’t help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret, and he’s interested in one special part of Maya’s anatomy—her paw-print birthmark.

Any Witch Way by Annastaysia Savage Title: Any Witch Way
Author: Annastaysia Savage
Pages: 188
Genre: Fantasy

Any Witch Way is a fantastic young adult fantasy novel from author Annastaysia Savage. Savage has done a great job at creating a world that jumps off those pages! As you follow the protagonist’s (Sadie) journey into adolescence, you can’t help but feel for her losses and gains. Savage even takes on a few serious and very real issues such as bullying and the loss of a loved one.

Here is a brief overview of the book:

“Sadie MacDougal, a foster child for the past three years, is on the precipice of becoming a teenager–the magical age of 13. Haunted by inconsistencies in her mother’s death, Sadie believes with all of her heart that her mother is still alive. Unfortunately, others think it’s all in her head and consider her “strange” or “unbalanced” — even unfit to be around children her own age.

Her schoolmates at Cranberry Grove Middle School ridicule and reject her, forcing Sadie to seek refuge in a small neighborhood bookstore where she feels accepted. On October 30th, the eve of her 13th birthday, Ms. Felis, the bookstore owner, plans a birthday celebration for Sadie–something that isn’t centered on Halloween.

Before she can open her presents, strange and mysterious things begin to happen. Sparkling lights spew from her head. Helter-Skelter breaks out in the bookstore, and Sadie, along with several of her bookstore friends, are whisked away to “safety.” Through a myriad of adventures, such as earrings that make her invisible to Forgur cookies for monsters, she meets creatures of all shapes and sizes and faces situations of extreme danger.

Along the way, Sadie discovers the real truth about her mother’s death, her heritage, and her place in this new world. Through this revelation she learns what the true definition of being normal means.”

I thoroughly enjoyed following Sadie into a world of magic and supernatural elements… and Sadie is such a likeable character! The book is sure to keep you engrossed till the very end. Any Witch Way by Annastaysia Savage is a must read!
