True Blood Fans – Layette Is Alive!
Posted by: | Comments9:06PM EST – Late Breaking News:
The dead body in the back of Andy Bellefleur’s car IS NOT Lafayette. It’s Miss Jeanette (the phony witch doctor).
Hurrah!
Now, where the HELL is Lafayette?
More to come. Got to get back to the show!
Is Lafayette Dead? Identify That Foot!
Posted by: | CommentsIn the last episode of True Blood Sookie, Andy Bellefleur, and Tara discover a dead body in the back seat of Andy’s car, parked outside Merlotte’s. We, the audience, only see one dead foot. An African-American foot. With red nail polish. There are only 3 possible candidates: Lafayette, Tara’s mother, and Miss Jeanette (the phony witch doctor). Let’s look at the evidence:
Exhibit A:

Can You Identify This Foot?
Let’s look at Exhibit B:

Remember when Lafayette was painting his toenails while off duty at Merlotte’s? There’s clearly a reason why this scene is important. I believe Alan Ball, the director and creator of such hits like Six Feet Under, deliberately showed this scene to throw us off. My proof? Read the following excerpt from recent article in TV Guide:
“Since the season premiere picks up right where we left off, the victim’s identity is revealed in short order. As you might have already guessed, Season 2’s first casualty is related to Tara, but not in a way that you will guess. At first blush, the significance of said death will not be apparent, but just wait! Also, a minor character’s drinking problem will resurface — hilariously.”
Does that sound like Lafayette? I think NOT!
If I put on my CSI hat and examine the two feet side-by-side I believe Lafayette’s toes (Exhibit B) are shaped differently from those of the dead person’s.
My conclusion: LAFAYETTE IS NOT DEAD! THE FOOT BELONGS TO TARA’S MOTHER. OR MISS JEANETTE.
Reason for killing Tara’s mother: it allows Maryanne Forrester to remove all of Tara’s family ties.
Reason for killing Miss Jeanette: it may serve to knock Tara’s mother off the wagon since she believed that the witch doctor cured her alcoholism. If Miss Jeanette dies and Tara’s mother starts drinking again Tara will probably distance herself from her – remember she’s still mad that her mother didn’t bail her out of jail.
Bottom line: the dead person in the car is somehow tied to Maryanne Forrester, who has a dark hidden agenda.
But that’s just my opinion. Tell me what you think.
True Blood Episode 12 Preview – You’ll Be The Death of Me
Posted by: | CommentsThere’s just one more episode of True Blood left! Here are some of the questions I hope the last episode answers:
- Who is the true killer? Rene or someone else?
- Will one of the main cast members be killed, similar to what happens at the start of Book 2, Living Dead in Dallas?
- Are Bill and Sookie still a couple?
- What type of relationship will Sookie and Sam have?
- What will happen to Sam and Tara’s relationship?
- Will Lafayette ever learn what happened to vampire Eddie?
- Just who is Maryann Forrester and why did she take Tara in?
- Will Jason join the anti-vampire group, Fellowship of the Sun?
- What will Eric do with Jessica, the new annoying bloodthirsty vampire that Bill made?
I’ve heard some buzz that Alan Ball (who plans to direct the last True Blood episode) might not make Rene the killer. Wouldn’t that be a great cliffhanger? In episode 11 they implied that he’s the murderer but what if he isn’t? That would be a great ending – it would keep people guessing (and talking) about the true identity of the killer for months. It would also make viewers more eager to watch True Blood Season 2. The boards at the True Blood Wiki site would light up like Christmas lights.

True Blood Episode 11 Review: To Love Is To Bury

Bill drained the innocent young woman Jessica as ordered by The Magister for his punishment for staking a vampire in order to save Sookie. So here’s how vampires are made in True Blood:
- the human is drained of their blood until they’re almost at the point of death;
- the vampire then gives the human some of their blood;
- the human is then buried in the ground;
- the human rises as a vampire.
Pam is directed to ensure Bill follows through with making Jessica into a vampire. Bill, forever the gentleman, decides to help Jessica through her transformation. Initially, after Jessica rises she doesn’t understand what she’s become. But once she does, she’s ECSTATIC that she’s a vampire. She starts talking about killing people that have been mean to her. Actually, it’s clear that Jessica is a spoiled brat. In the last episode I felt sorry for her. I now hope she falls onto a wooden stake. It’s clear she’s going to be one of those vampires that attacks and kills humans just for the fun of it.
Sookie is afraid that the killer is now targeting her as his next victim. When reading the mind of her attacker in the last episode she saw the uniform of one of the murder victims. The woman in question, Cindy Marshall, apparently worked at a place called Big Patty’s Pies. Sookie enlists the aid of Sam and together they visit the pie shop where they obtain information about Cindy. Turns out she used to associate with vampires like the other victims.
Sookie and Sam later visit the police station where Sookie reads the mind of a police officer and blackmails him into faxing a photo of Cindy’s brother (Drew Marshall) to the Bon Temps sheriff.
Jason, upset with Amy’s staking of the nice vampire Eddie, helps her clean up the gross vampire residue. They were using towels but quite frankly, they needed to use a couple of shovels. Jason is finally seeing more of Amy’s dark side but appears to be unable to cut her off. As such he and Amy do “one last vial” of “V” together.
When Tara gets pulled over by a police officer she tells the officer, Kenya, that she had a car accident in order to avoid hitting a naked woman standing in the middle of the road with a large pig. As a result she winds up in jail on a drunk driving charge; she’s visited by her mother who not only refuses to bail her out but also kicks her out of the house. She’s eventually bailed out by a mysterious stranger named Maryann Forrester, who appears to be a very wealthy social worker. She also looks strangely like the naked woman that was in the middle of the road. She invites Tara to come to her home. Tara agrees.
Lafayette visits his state senator buddy at a political event. During a conversation with the senator Lafayette points out the hypocrisy of what the senator is telling the public. The senator is publicly anti-vampire and anti-gay but is privately both a “V” user and gay. Lafayette’s conversation with the senator is photographed.
Sookie Sookie Now. Didn’t Bill tell Sookie he’d be back as soon as possible? So please tell me why Sookie is convinced Bill will never return. And tell me why she decides to engage in some lip locking with Sam. Bill walks in on them, attacks Sam, pisses Sookie off, and gets his invitation to enter her home rescinded.
Meet Jason The Idiot. Jason calls the police and turns himself in for the murders of the local women. He thinks he may have killed them while on “V”. Jason tells them “I don’t want to hurt anybody else. Lock me up.”
The episode ends with a ditzy clerk at the police officer totally ignoring the fax that contains the photo of Cindy’s brother. Do you recognize him?
Funniest line:
“This is a Texas Special Sawdust Pie. Nobody ordered that.”

Review of True Blood Episode 10: I Don’t Wanna Know

And They Call It Puppy Love: Well, we finally discover why that strange dog kept appearing in so many of the previous True Blood episodes. Once Sookie learns Sam’s shocking secret she starts wondering how much she really knows about the world around her. I find it amazing that Sookie is so freaked out about Sam’s true nature and the fact that other supernatural creatures exist since she’s so accepting of Bill and his kind. Can you say hypocrite?
True Colors: Tara goes through with the ritual to remove the evil spirit from her body. It’s pretty gross at times but also convincingly scary. Tara is convinced that her inner demon has been removed and celebrates with her mother, Lettie Mae. However, she soon learns that Miss Jeanette has a secret; her dilemma now is whether she should tell her mother about it and possibly bring about a setback.
She later gets drunk and has a car accident while attempting to avoid hitting a strange woman on the side of the road. Pay attention to the woman – we’ll see more of her later. Did you hear the hog sounds? That’s also important.
Chicken Soup for the Soulless: Amy attempts to convince Jason that they should be nicer to Eddie, the vampire they kidnapped, so they can eventually untie him, keep him as a pet, and have a lifelong supply of vampire blood.
Jason, while talking to Eddie, learns that Amy is only pretending to like Eddie. This serves to place some doubts in Jason’s mind about Amy.
Jason and Amy argue about what to do with Eddie; Amy wants to kill him because she knows that if they let him go he’ll surely kill both of them (well, at least Amy). Jason’s not a killer so he wants to let him go. He attempts to do this when Amy attacks Eddie. This doesn’t end well folks.
I Know What You Did Last Summer: Sookie, while attending Arlene and Rene’s engagement party opens her mind and “hears” some disturbing thoughts related to the recent murders in town. She’s attacked while alone in the bar but doesn’t get a chance to see the face of the killer.
If The Stake Don’t Fit You Must Acquit: Bill stands trial for killing Long Shadow, the Fangtasia vampire bartender guilty of stealing from Eric Northman, the bar’s owner. Bill is accused of killing “a higher life form” in order to defend a human. The standard penalty for such an offense is 5 years in a coffin chained with silver however the “majester” decides that Bill’s punishment should be more “creative.” He orders Bill to turn an innocent human named Jessica. The scene that follows is really heart wrenching.

True Blood Episode 5 Rocks! Here’s what happens:
Sookie and Bill Part Ways: Sookie gets angry at Bill for his treatment of a police officer (see
True Blood Episode 4) and as a result, Bill tells Sookie he won’t call on her anymore. Sookie feels uncertain about her feelings for him; she’s attracted to him because he’s different (and she’s different) but she’s also afraid of his lack of humanity.
Tara Chastises Lafayette About Jason: Tara, just back from taking Jason to the emergency room to have his penis drained (yes, you heard right) storms into Lafayette’s home to yell at him for giving Jason vampire blood. Lafayette is only slightly remorseful for what Jason had to suffer through. The next day, believe it or not, he entices Jason into taking more vampire blood by playing up the mystical nature of vampire blood. Jason succumbs of course, but this time he only takes one drop, not the entire vial.
Sam Asks Sookie Out: Sam asks Sookie to accompany him to Bill’s speech at the church and suggests that they go out for coffee afterwards. Sookie is pleasantly surprised at the invitation and accepts.
Bill Talks About His Past: Sookie’s grandmother, a member of the Descendants of the Glorious Dead, invites Bill to speak to the group and tell them about his experience during the Civil War. He tells them a great story about a young soldier wounded on the field who kept crying out for help. Unfortunately, the soldier had fallen in a place unprotected and Bill’s troop was reluctant to attempt a rescue. The young soldier’s cries were so horrific and heartwrenching that Bill’s best friend decided to got get him. Unfortunately, his friend was killed during his attempts. The troop eventually rescued the soldier after dark but he died a few hours later.
This scene includes several flashbacks which illustrate the suffering and pain experienced by the Confederate Soldiers. Recounting these experiences causes Bill to remember the pain and suffering he witnessed during the war.
One of the audience members shows Bill a photo of the Compton family. Although Bill doesn’t remember posing for the photo he’s very moved by it. HINT: Remember this scene – it will become important in future episodes!
Sookie, Sam, Tara, and Jason are also in the audience, as are 3 troublemakers from town who brought a garlic press. One of the idiots squeezes a clove of garlic and holds it up for Bill to see during his speech. They’re clearly vampire-phobic and there to taunt and ridicule Bill. As you know, Tara and Jason aren’t fans of Bills either but they’re at least respectful during his speech.
During the reception there are confederate flags and the sound of Dixie playing in the background. Tara had apparently left by that time but I wonder what she’d think of this?
The scene ends with Bill and Sookie’s grandmother watching Sam and Sookie leaving together for the rest of their date.
Sam and Sookie’s Date: While having coffee Sam reminds Sookie that she has his permission to read his mind. Sookie tells Sam that she can’t really read his thoughts. She then ponders a bit and asks him why no one knows anything about him. He laughs it off and doesn’t really answer.
Later, Sam kisses Sookie outside the restaurant but she pulls away because she still has feelings for Bill. Sam realizes this, the two of them have words, and Sookie decides to call a cab instead of riding back with him.
Jason Realizes Tara is a Woman! As you know, Jason, our lovable ladies man, is quite the bed hopper. He’s got more notches in his headboard than he can probably count (I mean that both literally and figuratively because Jason’s not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed). Pumped up on vampire blood during Bill’s speech he suddenly realizes “hey, Tara’s a girl.” With Jason, that’s all it takes. As such he starts making eyes at Tara, who has a major Love Jones for Jason. Later at Merlotte’s he hallucinates that Tara is a Tahitian princess. He approaches Tara and tells her that she’s the one for him – the vampire blood has opened his eyes to Tara’s love. Tara doesn’t succumb to his charm, tells him to come see her when he’s not high on vampire blood, and eventually walks away. She later finds Jason outside near a dumpster having sex with another woman.
Lafayette Displays His Manhood: No, this isn’t what you think – get your minds out of the gutter! Here’s what happens: the 3 troublemakers that attended Bill’s speech on the Civil War end up at Merlotte’s, the local bar. Still itching for a fight, they begin criticizing Lafayette’s cooking, accusing him of giving them an AIDS burger. They become so rowdy about the food that Lafayette leaves the kitchen and confronts them. Perhaps these guys thought they could intimidate him because he wears makeup and earrings. Whatever the reason, they were wrong. Lafayette put a serious butt whooping on them and showed them that they shouldn’t dish it up if they can’t serve it (don’t you love my cook-related metaphors?).
How Bill Became a Vampire: Bill remembers how, after the war, he wanders through the woods looking for food and comes upon a woman in a cabin. She invites him in and graciously feeds and tends to him. She tells him that she’s certain that her husband died in the war and then proceeds to make a pass at Bill. He rebukes her, telling her that he’s on his way home to see his wife and 2 children. Bill turns to leave and is attacked by the woman.
She’s a vampire.
He awakens and is forced to drink her blood; this is how he becomes a vampire.
Sookie Loses a Loved One: This True Blood episode ends with the death of someone very close to Sookie. This is such a shock that I’m not going to include the spoiler here but instead, I’ve included a link below to sites that let you view the entire True Blood episode free online!
