Bill Compton\'s Trial

And They Call It Puppy Love: Well, we finally discover why that strange dog kept appearing in so many of the previous True Blood episodes. Once Sookie learns Sam’s shocking secret she starts wondering how much she really knows about the world around her.  I find it amazing that Sookie is so freaked out about Sam’s true nature and the fact that other supernatural creatures exist since she’s so accepting of Bill and his kind.  Can you say hypocrite?

True Colors: Tara goes through with the ritual to remove the evil spirit from her body.  It’s pretty gross at times but also convincingly scary.  Tara is convinced that her inner demon has been removed and celebrates with her mother, Lettie Mae.  However, she soon learns that Miss Jeanette has a secret; her dilemma now is whether she should tell her mother about it and possibly bring about a setback.

She later gets drunk and has a car accident while attempting to avoid hitting a strange woman on the side of the road.  Pay attention to the woman – we’ll see more of her later.  Did you hear the hog sounds?  That’s also important.

Chicken Soup for the Soulless: Amy attempts to convince Jason that they should be nicer to Eddie, the vampire they kidnapped, so they can eventually untie him, keep him as a pet, and have a lifelong supply of vampire blood.

Jason, while talking to Eddie, learns that Amy is only pretending to like Eddie.  This serves to place some doubts in Jason’s mind about Amy.

Jason and Amy argue about what to do with Eddie; Amy wants to kill him because she knows that if they let him go he’ll surely kill both of them (well, at least Amy). Jason’s not a killer so he wants to let him go.  He attempts to do this when Amy attacks Eddie.  This doesn’t end well folks.

I Know What You Did Last Summer: Sookie, while attending Arlene and Rene’s engagement party opens her mind and “hears” some disturbing thoughts related to the recent murders in town.  She’s attacked while alone in the bar but doesn’t get a chance to see the face of the killer.

If The Stake Don’t Fit You Must Acquit: Bill stands trial for killing Long Shadow, the Fangtasia vampire bartender guilty of stealing from Eric Northman, the bar’s owner. Bill is accused of killing “a higher life form” in order to defend a human. The standard penalty for such an offense is 5 years in a coffin chained with silver however the “majester” decides that Bill’s punishment should be more “creative.” He orders Bill to turn an innocent human named Jessica.  The scene that follows is really heart wrenching.

I find the character of Tara to be quite intriguing. The ups and downs of her life make one wonder how she keeps her sanity. After Tara discovers the her Moms exorcism and hers were fake her the bottom falls out of her world. Though a fake exorcism Dara”s mom is normal and off the booze. Tara herself get”s drunk and has a car accident seemingly following her mothers path. One can only feel sorry for Tara. I just love this show and can’t believe there are only 2 more episodes. My favorite show of the year, can’t wait till Sunday!

Great episode. Does anyone know who the actress who played the mysterious woman in the road is? It’s driving me batty.

Wendy, I agree. Tara started out as a one-note chip-on-her-shoulder girl. But she quickly grew into a complex, layered character.

On an unrelated note, I received the copy of the book that I won here, and I have avoided reading it so that I will be surprised when the killer is revealed. But after last night’s episode, my husband couldn’t wait, so he read the end of the book. He is on strict instruction not to say anything to me that will give it away! ;)

I think that the mysterious woman Tara meets on the road is a witch. The witches were bound to make an appearance at some point, as they have in the books. The hogs could be the clue, linking the mystery woman to Circe, of Greek mythology–the sorceress who turned men into pigs, or animals. But what effect does a witch have on other women?
