I was wondering if you could help me find a book I read awhile back. It has were creatures in it (even mentions a wereduck) Has a character with “sparkle” ? in it. Has a cat who is really a demon of some sort and he loves ice cream. Please advise.

Thank You so much. I can’t believe that you recognized them so quickly. And because I bought them at a Rite-Aid store I was questioning my sanity lol. I read Holy Smokes and Up In Smoke, one of each lol. I appreciate the links it made it easier to find the ones I read. I also have found 2 other series here that I am in fact reading.

Audris: Yes, the first book is in "The Hollows" series by Kim Harrison. The witch in question is Rachel Wood, who's great! As for the other books, I think you're talking about the same series. The books are from the Aisling Grey Guardian series by Katie MacAlister. Aisling has a sidekick Newfoundland dog that talks to her. She's responsible for guarding portals. She's also in love with Drake, a gorgeous dragon wyvern who's usually in human form. Here are the books in order: You Slay Me (Book 1) Fire Me Up (Book 2) Light Me Up (Book 3) Holy Smokes (Book 4) These books are AWESOME! I'm so glad you asked this question because it brings back great memories of Aisling and her adventures with "Jim" her wisecracking dog! Also, Katie MacAlister wrote a spin-off series called Silver Dragons which centers on Gabriel, the handsome wyvern of the silver dragon den. Here they are in order: Playing with Fire (Book 1) Up in Smoke (Book 2) Me and My Shadow (Book 3) Holy Smokes (Book 4) Clicking on any of the links above takes you to the Amazon page for the book! The Book is Called For A Few Demons More. It was an early Christmas present.

Well I can honestly say you all know your books. Its rare I find a site like this. But I did notice that no one mantioned
David and Leigh Eddings. The series of 22 books is not only one of my favorites, Its fun, and you have to try to find a place where you are able to put it down. I know you are mostly mentioning female leads, but they are a great read and I had to mention it.

Also there is Sheepfarmer’s Daughter by Elizabeth Moon
(first book of the “Deed of Paksenarrion” trilogy)
It has a FEMALE main character.

But I have a question, and I swear I’m not nuts lol.
I read three different books about2 years ago, I normally don’t have this problem but I lent out the books and never got them back so here goes:

One, A clumsy witch with a mentor and she draws her magic from the earth and always seems to end up in all kinds of trouble.

Two, A femalew who fell in love with a dragon who has a human form and they are planning on getting married but she is already going to have his baby, and his evil brother came back to try to kill his father, so the mob type wars have begun.

Three, Another female lead with a guardian in dog form who only talks to her, but she travels through a portal and deals with Azreal, and head demon.

Any help in identifing these writers and books would be deeply appreciated and I swear I really read these. lol

OMG I totally agree with you! I’ve been trying to tell my friends that’s why I don’t like Twilight but they just don’t get it! The Bella character makes me nauseated! I don’t mind needing a man’s help (especially a good looking one LOL) every now and then, but geez stand up for yourself once in awhile. I don’t know if you have ever read Vicki Pettersson’s “Zodiac Series” but it explores this very thing – Standing up for yourself despite your troubles. Great Heroine
