Cyber Monday Sales Continue – New Kindle, Lower Price

Have you seen the new Kindle? A friend of mine just purchased one and guys, I’m telling you, the Kindle rocks!

The first thing that struck me was how thin and lightweight it is. It’s about 1/3″ and weight about 10 ounces. Also, the display is really nicely lit and easy on the eyes. Books are easily read in sunshine as well as at night, under dim light.

Also, the new Kindle is faster than the older models. It takes less than 60 seconds to download an entire book to the device.

Another thing I like about it is that you can get newly released books for a great price instead of sometimes paying quite a bit for a new hardcover release. This is really cool because I tend to wait until books are released in paperback. With the Kindle I can get books as soon as they’re released which means I can review them quicker for the site.

Also, as someone who travels quite a bit, being able to put the Kindle in my purse and have tons of books loaded on it is a plus. Right now, I pack 2-3 books in my suitcase when I travel, some of them heavier hardcovers. With the Kindle I can have up to 1,500 books on the device. That’s really nice because I like having “backup” books when I travel; if I start reading a new book and don’t like it I put it aside and grab a different book. This is REALLY easy to do with a Kindle.

And here’s one of the best features of the new Kindle: Text-to-Speech! With this feature the Kindle will read newspapers, magazines and books out loud to you. The new Kindle has a built-in headphone plug.

I just read that the new Kindle is the #1 best selling item at Amazon and the #1 most gifted item. I’m planning to “gift” this baby to myself as a Christmas present. I’ll let you know when I get it.
