Charlaine Harris Books
Charlaine Harris has been writing books for over 25 years.
Charlaine Harris started out writing ghost stories but then switched to writing plays and poetry while in college. After she had her kids she began writing mysteries; her first mystery book “Real Murders” from the Aurora Teagarden series, won an Agatha Award nomination.
Charlaine then developed a new mystery series set in Arkansas about Lily Bard, a woman running a housecleaning business who’s trying to escape a horrific act that occurred in her past.
Charlaine’s next endeavor was to develop a series that was much darker that included elements of mystery, romance, and fantasy. That launched the beginning of the popular Southern Vampire Mystery series, commonly referred to as either “the Sookie Stackhouse books” or “True Blood books.”
Charlaine Harris lives in Arkansas with her husband, 3 children, 3 dogs, and “Not Duck.” You can read Charlaine’s hilarious story about their new pet at the Charlaine Harris blog.

I started reading her books after several friends told me about them they gave me the first book which I put off reading. I’m not much of a reader anymore with 2 kids and a husband. But after the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series Dead Until Dark. I was hooked. Now I have found my LOVE for reading again thanks Charaline Harris!!!!
I have read/listened to all of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse books, all of The Grave Series, and now I’m working on the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries and Lily Bard in Shakespear Mysteries. Each character is quite different but all the main characters are women with strong qualities and the ability to critically think! I would really like to meet Charlaine Harris some day.
Same here! She’s done an amazing job with her books and I’m glad to see her get the recognition she deserves!
I agree, her books are friggin awesome! I’ve read other books in this genre and I really love Charlaine’s books, they have this quality where you just can’t put them down. I reocommended these to my best friend and she loves them.
