True Blood: Season 4, Ep. 5: Me and the Devil
Posted by: | Comments
The episode titled ‘Me and the Devil,’ opened up several new possibilities in storylines, even though some of them (like the Sam Merlotte and Tommy story) seem a little disjointed from the rest of the plot at the moment. The vampire / witch clash on the other hand, has become even more intense this week!
We found out last week that the girl Bill’s been sleeping with (Portia) was one of his descendants. This week (understandably) he tries to break it off with her, but Portia doesn’t seem to think incest is a big deal. Portia insists that it’s even legal in some states pushing Bill to use his vampire skills on her. Bill glamours her into thinking she’s not interested in him and what’s more he even gets her to scream at the very sight of him! As funny as that was, I’m sure that’s going to come back to bit him in the butt.
Sookie on the other hand is still trying to help amnesiac Eric. Have I mentioned just how much I enjoy this new role of Eric’s? This reversal in character is surely bringing out the best in Skarsgard – he makes an excellent bad boy and he is utterly convincing in the new innocent role as well.
Good Eric has a dream in which Godric (his maker) tells him that he is damned and that he should feed on Sookie. So Eric suddenly finds himself in Sookie’s room about to attack her when she wakes up and convinces him that he really shouldn’t feed on her. She ends up comforting him saying that there is some good left in him after all. They have a special moment there as Eric cries in Sookie’s lap.
Meanwhile, Tara, Jesus and Lafayette are unaware of Eric’s change in personality. They finally decide that Marnie is useless and turn to other channels for help. Jesus’ grandfather is a powerful sorcerer in Mexico and they think he might be able to protect them. Tara briefly contemplates going back to her lover in New Orleans but decides against it. She later turns to Sookie for help. Eric walks in the door and out goes Tara!
But before Tara left Sookie managed to get some information about what had happened to Eric. So off goes Sookie, posing as a regular customer, to pay Marnie the witch a visit. While Marnie is reading her palm, Sookie hears her late grandmother’s voice warning her about Marnie. That’s cue enough for Sookie to get up out of there – and fast.
Pam’s face is clearly falling to pieces and as you can imagine, Miss Pam is not amused. She asks Bill to allow her to kill Marnie. But because of the new AVL vampire code that forbids vamps from harming humans (the true death is the punishment for violators), he disapproves her request. Instead he orders his soldiers to capture Marnie and imprison her. Marnie still claims no knowledge of the spells she cast on Eric and Pam. And as Bill discovers, she’s telling the truth. Bill learns that the woman in Marnie’s visions is a witch from the 1600s who used necromancy to drag vampires into sunlight. He also finds out that Eric is currently taking refuge in Sookie’s house and he’s not very happy. Primarily because it means Sookie lied to him when he asked her about Eric.
In other storylines, Tommy ends up killing his monster of a father and trickster of a mother. He turns to Sam for help who not only helps him get rid of the bodies but also offers him some comfort and advice.
Arlene on the other hand, is convinced that her baby is being haunted by the ghost of the baby’s biological father – Rene Lenier. And Jason has a very explicit sexual dream that included both Jessica AND Hoyt!
I especially loved actress Fiona Shaw’s portrayal of Marnie this week. She is one heck of an actress who doesn’t need words to express what she’s feeling! I was actually excited to see Eric and Godric on the screen together again! It has been a while since the two of them bared their fangs together! With all these new developments there’s no telling where this season of True Blood will end up!
Question to Ponder: What do you think Bill and the American Vampire League (AVL) will do to Marnie?

I’m Alive and On Fire Watching True Blood Ep4
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s what happened tonight in True Blood Episode 4: I’m Alive and On Fire
• After Eric sucked the life blood from Claudine Sookie’s fairy godmother (as Sookie said “you drank the whole fairy”) he decides he wants more blood. From Sookie. She refuses but then Eric, apparently high on blood, runs off into the night.
• Bill questions Pam about Eric’s whereabouts. She accuses him of deliberately sending Eric to the witches. She also tells Bill he’s gotten power hungry since he became the King of Louisiana.
• Jason is still being used as a Boy Toy for the women of Hotshot. They’re lined up for him. I guess this is poetic justice since Jason’s probably slept with more women than most in the small town of Bon Temps. However it’s pretty sad when one of the young girls is also sent in to have sex with him; she’s brainwashed into thinking she has to do this for her people. Jason talks her out of doing anything and convinces her to untie him, which she does.
• Marnie has a vision of the witch she channeled when she erased Eric’s memory. She witnesses the witch in question being burned at the stake. Looks like she was alive during the Spanish inquisition. She keeps repeating something like “fortesu eru nortu”.
• Alcide agrees to help Sookie find Eric; he strips down naked (yum), turns into a beautiful white wolf and runs into the woods with Sookie on his heels. They later find Eric swimming in a lake (naked I might add). When Alcide changes back to a human (naked I might add) he and Eric have a naked, hunky standoff. Sookie referees just in time because the sun starts affecting Eric.
• Fenton and Crystal discover that Jason is gone. Fenton changes into a werepanther and runs off looking for him with the intent to kill him. Later, Jason is able to climb a tree and jump on top of Fenton, killing him with a wooden stake (isn’t that interesting). Soon after, Crystal arrives and when Jason attempts to rebuke her she tells him that he’s one of them now and will become the Ghost Daddy of Hotshot.
Later that night Hoyt and Jessica find Jason lying in the middle of the road at night. Jessica gives him some blood to revive him.
• Lafayette, Tara and Jesus try to talk Marnie into reversing the spell she put on Eric. She initially tells them she can’t do that because the goddess, not her, cast the spell. When they explain that “can’t” is not an option when it comes to dealing with vampires, she attempts to reach the goddess spirit. To no avail. Uh, Marnie is a bit of an airhead if you ask me.
Fortunately, one of Marnie’s attempts to contact her spirit guides finally pays off. A book falls open to a specific page that tell her to “draw your circle in the light of the moon of Artemus.”
• Sam’s brother Tommy goes back to see his mother since she left Joe Lee, her husband. But she acts strange when Tommy asks how she got away from him. She later tells him that Joe Lee had put her back in the ring. Tommy gets mad and then out of the dark, Joe Lee wraps a chain around his neck, choking him and telling him that his days of freedom are over. It looks like Joe Lee is going to force Tommy to start dog fighting again.
• Sam goes to visit Luna (horse lady) and discovers she has a daughter named Emma. Luna acted strange when he first arrives, as if she didn’t want to ask him in. But after he saw her daughter she seemed to warm up a bit. Have I told you that I don’t trust Luna? I think there’s something weird about her.
When Sam asks her why she didn’t tell him about her daughter she tells him she’s careful about revealing her daughter to anyone because his father is a werewolf. A very jealous werewolf who might be a bit violent. I think Sam should walk away from this potentially disastrous relationship.
• Sookie is finally able to get Eric tucked in to his “hidey hole” underneath her armoire. Alcide tells her she’s not safe letting Eric stay there but Sookie seems to think she’ll be okay. I tell you – I love Alcide’s character. And that man is some kinda handsome!
• Bill goes to visit Portia Bellefleur and meets her grandmother, Caroline. While tracing the Bellefleur family tree Bill and Caroline realize they’re related. As such he tells Portia they can’t see one another anymore (they had sex during the last episode). Why? Because she’s his great-great-great-great grandaughter!
• Back home, when Alcide tells Debbie Pelt about how he assisted Sookie, she starts acting weird. It’s obvious she’s still jealous of Sookie.
• OH MY GOODNESS! In tonight’s episode Terry Belefleur put demon baby Mikey down for a minute only to come back into the room to find the following words written on the wall:
“BABY NOT YOURS”
As you can imagine, Arlene freaks out about this.
• Bill goes to visit Sookie looking for Eric and Sookie lies to him, telling him she’s not seen him. He asks her permission to search her home but she refuses. Bill almost goes ahead with the search but after she reminds him that she’s never lied to him, he feels guilty about doubting her and leaves.
• Pam joins Marnie, Lafayette, Jesus and Tara during a night time ritual in which Marnie attempts to reverse the spell she put on Eric. After a few minutes an angry and impatient Pam approaches Marnie who puts her hand in front of Pam’s face and begins channeling the witch goddess. In a strange language Marnie says “Corrupt and un-sanctified corpse that walks, behold and see yourself.” Almost immediately Pam’s skin begins to age really, really fast. She reaches up to touch her face and some of her skin peels away. She runs away into the night.
Once again, the vamps have learned not to mess with Marnie. She may seem a bit ditzy but when she channels that goddess she’s hell on wheels.

Bill Is The King Of Louisiana And You Smell Like Dinner, True Blood Episode 2
Posted by: | CommentsBill is the King of Louisiana and living large in tonight’s episode of True Blood. Yes, Sookie is in for quite a surprise when she learns that her old boyfriend has moved up in the world since her trip to fairyland.
Here are the Top 10 highlights from “You Smell Like Dinner”, tonight’s episode of True Blood:
#10: Jason is tied down to a bed and held prisoner by the crazy ass inbred folks in the small community of Hotshot. He almost talks one of the kids into untying him when Felton barges in with a shotgun.
Later, when Andy Bellefleur comes by accusing them of dealing “V”, Crystal has to hold a knife to his neck in order to keep him quiet. Felton, realizing that Andy is hooked on “V”, sends one of the Hotshot guys out to give him a vial of the stuff. This works and Andy tells them he’s taking the “evidence” away with him.
#9: Anti-vampire protesters have set up camp outside Fangtasia. Hoyt approaches one of them but then gets beat down by a few of them. He takes his punches like a man (I really like him) and gets in a few good hits himself.
But alas, he and Jessica are still having relationship problems. When Hoyt refuses to drink her blood to help him heal, Jessica leaves with the initial intent of getting him some Advil but then decides to go to Fangtasia, where she again encounters the anti-vampire protesters. But she also sees the cute guy from last week’s episode who she takes into the bathroom and sucks his blood.
#8: They Call Me Mr. Sam: A naked Sam (who has one of THE best butts in prime time) tries to get busy with one of his new shape-shifter friends the lovely Luna, but she’s a shy filly (heh, heh) and runs away from him.
But later, she shows up at Merlotte’s and makes it clear that she’s interested in him. Sam makes a date to see her later that night.
Okay, but the date entails sitting around a campfire with the other shifters. It’s there that Luna confesses that she once shifted into the form of her mother. She tells them about skin walkers, who the Navajo’s believe are able to shift into the form of any other animal, including the form of a human. But here’s the catch: you have to kill someone in order to do that. She then reveals that her mother died giving birth to her. Um, there’s something not quite right about Luna.
The campfire party is interrupted by Sam’s brother Tommy, who’s spying on them. Sam chases and tackles him and learns that Tommy wants him back as a brother. They agree to try to start trusting one another.
#7: Sookie goes to see Bill and learns that she’s “on the list” and is cleared to enter his home, which by the way, is REALLY pimped out. Sookie opens the door as Bill and Katarina are getting dressed after getting busy. Yes, it appears that Bill moved while Sookie was hanging out with the faeries.
Sookie asks for Bill’s protection from Eric. Bill suggests that she seek shelter in another human’s home. She’s not too pleased with that answer but she’s even less pleased that he’s the new King of Louisiana.
#6: Flashback Time! We take a trip back in time to 1982 London when Bill was a punk rocker that got his blood fix in dark alleys. Fortunately, he was still a fairly decent blood sucker. This attracts the attention of Nan Flannigan of the American Vampire League who tells him that Louis Pasteur (a vampire) is working on a synthesized blood invention that will satisfy a vampire’s craving for human blood. She asks him to work with her cause to infiltrate the vampire groups that still want to hunt and kill humans.
We later see Bill being visited by Sophie Anne, the Queen of Louisiana. The AVL vampire SWAT team soon makes mincemeat of her at Bill’s command. After that Nan Flannigan pronounces him King of Louisiana.
#5: Poor Little Mikey. Arlene is so convinced that he’s evil that she’s losing it in public. Later, the baby spits in her eye and then appears to SMILE AT HER in a goofy baby way. Okay, I’m on to that kid. That’s not gas that’s causing him to smile like that. That baby’s teched!
#4: Tara startles Sookie by coming to visit her. The thing is, as Tara was approaching, Sookie has a vision of the evil fae running toward her. After she enters her house (which is actually now Eric’s house since he purchased it while she was away) she finds that Eric has built himself a cubby (a place to “sleep” during the day) in her house. Coffins are so last season.
#3: Bill warns Eric about the new coven in town, telling them about their ability to bring a bird to life. He says “if they can control the dead they can control us.” Eric takes him seriously and agrees to take care of the issues.
#2: Tara drops in on Lafayette and Jesus and they talk her into coming with them to a witches coven. At the coven meeting, Marnie tells them that they should attempt to raise a dead body.
And then, ERIC ENTERS!
This scares the hell out of everyone of course. Eric tells Marnie that her coven can no longer meet. When Marnie asks “what’s in it for me?”, Eric tells her that her terms are NOT negotiable. Eric then attacks Marnie, sucking her blood. When Tara attempts to help Marnie, Eric turns his attention on her but by then the witches have joined hands and started chanting. Marnie then begins channeling some ancient chick that begins speaking a chant in a foreign language. I’ve never seen Eric scared before but he’s definitely bleeping his pants at this point. When they’re done chanting Eric runs away.
#1: Crystal and Fenton decide that they want Jason to be one of them. She and Felton change into werepanthers and Crystal bites Jason in the side! Ooh, if you’ve read the books you know where this storyline is going!
The episode ends with Sookie finding Eric walking in a daze on the side of the road. Not only does he not know who she is, he doesn’t even know his own name. If you’ve read Dead To The World you know a bit about what just happened to Eric. I have to say that this is one of the best books in the series and marks the time when I truly fell in love with Eric’s character. Even if you haven’t read the earlier books you can read this book as a standalone. It’s REALLY good.

It’s The Witching Hour on True Blood Season 4, Ep1 – She’s Not There
Posted by: | Comments
Holy Fairy Godmother Batman! Tonight’s episode of True Blood Season 4 titled “She’s Not Here” starts off with a repeat of the True Blood Season 4 Preview from last week. But then, it’s off to the races. There are so many jaw dropping surprises that my head is still reeling.
So without further ado, here’s a pictorial recap of the episode:
After her trip to fairyland, Sookie returns home only to find a group of movers in her house. It appears that Sookie has been gone for a LONG time. So long that people assumed she was dead. In fact, Jason (who’s now a bona fide policeman) finds her in the house and tells her she’s been gone for “twelve and a half months.” To Sookie, she was only gone for 10-15 minutes. Sookie discovers that everyone thought she’d been killed by vampires.
Sookie (who’s still the sweet girl we love) gives Jason their grandfather’s pocket watch which is the only thing they have left of him.
And then, Bill appears on her porch, still professing his love for her. Unfortunately, Eric soon follows but Bill tells him to go away. But not before Eric says “everyone who claims to love you, your friends, your brother, even Bill Compton. They all gave up on you. I. NEVER. DID.”
When Andy Bellefleur (who’s now addicted to V) appears demanding to know where Sookie’s been, Bill defends her by telling Andy that she’s been working for him the entire time. Turns out, everyone thought Bill had killed her.
Even so, Sookie can’t totally forgive Bill his betrayal.
I love Lafayette’s new mohawk! He and Jesus visit a witches coven gathering. Holly is there along with some other new characters. The coven leader, Marnie, has a premonition about Lafayette and Eddie (remember Eddie the really nice vampire?). Well, Marnie picked up on that right off the bat and even starts speaking like him.
Lafayette gets angry at Jesus for taking him to the coven meeting, feeling he was set up. However, Jesus keeps telling Lafayette that he has a gift that he shouldn’t keep denying. He invites Lafayette to another meeting.
Andy Bellefleur is then manhandled by Andy who accuses him of holding out on him with his V. Fortunately, Jason comes to the rescue. Imagine that, Jason appears to have matured quite a bit and seems to be the only person that can keep Andy under control.
Meet Mikey – Demon Child. Arlene’s given birth to Rene’s child, little Mikey who seems to be JUST LIKE DADDY! Arlene finds him on the floor quite happy since he just pulled the heads off a bunch of Barbie dolls. This freaks her out of course since she’s convinced the kid is possessed.
Meet Tara, Warrior Princess. Since the season finale of True Blood Season 3 we saw Tara driving away from Bon Temps into the night. Turns out she’s been making the female wrestling circuit, fighting people in cages.
Okay, that’s not all that’s different about her. She’s apparently got a new FEMALE significant other. AND a new name. She’s now known as “Tony.”
What the Hell! Tommy, Sam’s brother, is now living with Maxine, Hoyt’s mother. And he’s now somewhat of a religious fanatic.
Jessica and Hoyt are living together and are having a few problems. While dancing at Fangtasia Jessica is approached by a cute guy and clearly wants to flirt back. When she goes to the ladies room Pam follows her and accurately identifies Jessica’s problem: she wants to hunt and drink the blood of other humans. Jessica denys it but it’s clear Pam is dead on (no pun intended).
Sam has new friends. He’s part of a sophisticated group that drinks fine wine, strips down naked and then shape shifts into horses that run through the woods at night.
Jason has become the surrogate dad to the poor and hungry kids at Hotshot. However, while attempting to grab something from the bottom of a large freezer, he’s hit over the head and shoved in – and the freezer is locked from the outside.
Lafayette can’t stay away from the witches. While at another coven meeting and sitting in a circle and holding hands with the rest of the witches, he witnesses their ability to RAISE THE DEAD in the form of a small parrot. It doesn’t live for very long but Marnie, the leader, is quite pleased with their accomplishment. It looks like Lafayette’s power helps make them stronger.
Oh, and one of the witches is clearly a double agent. She leaves the group to meet secretly with Bill.
BTW: Eric and Bill have become ambassadors of the new “We Heart Vampires” campaign headed by the American Vampire League. It’s hilarious to see them act like politicians trying to get votes.
While naked Sookie drys off from a shower she’s approached by Eric who tells her that he’s the person who purchased her house. Why? Because he always knew she was alive. Unfortunately, since Sookie no longer owns the house she can’t banish him from the property. The episode ends with Eric baring his fangs and telling Sookie “YOU ARE MINE.”So, what was the biggest surprise for you in tonight’s episode? Hit me up in the comments.

True Blood Season 4 PREVIEW
Posted by: | CommentsAwesome!
In the True Blood Season 4 preview we join Sookie in the Land of Fae. While there learns that Claudine is her fairy godmother, she meets up with Barry the Bellhop and gets a chance to talk to her grandfather (who must be her maternal grandfather because he doesn’t realize where he is. As you know, in the book her paternal grandfather is a magical creature.).
I tell you, fairyland is lovely, full of light and peace and new age music.
But not all is well in fairyland. Sure enough, Sookie realizes that the “light fruit” everyone is eating is bad. When approached by Queen Maeb, she realizes the Queen is someone that shouldn’t be trusted. She’s right.
In order to get away from the fae she she uses her power against the Queen which causes the fairy fascade to disappear and their true surroundings to be visible. It’s then that Sookie realizes she’s actually in a dark and evil place.
She and her grandfather run away from the evil fae until they come to the edge of a cliff. Sookie’s told that she has to make a choice: either stay in fairyland or go back to the human world. She has to think quick because the evil fairy queen is closing the portal between the two worlds.
Sookie chooses the human world and the preview ends.
I can’t wait for True Blood Season 4 to begin!
Kevin Prepping For Nudity On True Blood!
Posted by: | Comments
Kevin Alejandro the thirty four year old Texan Actor who plays the part of the incredibly sexy Jesus Velasquez on HBO’s True Blood, shares his nude experiences with his fans in an interview with AccessHollywood.
Jesus is a nurse who is also a witch (also known as a “brujo”) and is in a relationship with Lafayette (played by actor Nelsen Ellis) – Merlotte’s short order cook. Earlier on in the show the two of them were on shaky grounds as a couple owing to Lafayette’s other job as a drug dealer (vampire blood dealer) and a gay prostitute. Kevin said in the interview that the upcoming season will see a stronger bond developing between the two.
“My relationship [will grow] with not only him but other characters in [the] show as well,” said Kevin Alejandro. “They are really moving us around and balancing it out in all these crazy, strange ways and it works man. It works really well this year.” When asked how he felt about getting nude on the show, he said that he wasn’t really nervous about “losing his pants on camera.” In fact he said that he was “comfortable” with it!
“The thing about doing scenes like that is everyone is really respectful and very professional,” said Kevin. “You’re comfortable doing it, and you’re friends with everybody so when something like that happens it’s only the people that absolutely have to be there in the room.” “They’re really good at making us feel comfortable,” he added, of the show’s crew.
Then I guess there’s just one thing left for him to do now – getting into shape for those saucy shirtless scenes! I can imagine how strenuous it must be, knowing you will be competing against all the other ripped boys of Bon Temps. “I’m sharing the screen with somebody like Ryan Kwanten,” said Kevin in the interview. “We all look within ourselves for inspiration [to lose weight, and get fit] but he’s obviously the poster boy of a physique” – that must be quite intimidating!
Kevin however, seems to be well on his way for those racy scenes. He said that he joined a few other members of the cast in an “intense” workout regimen in preparation for his nude scenes. “There [are] a couple of us that are doing a P90X and that’s where it gets really intense,” said Kevin. “It’s something I do on my own and I found out that someone else on set was doing it [too].” I can’t wait to see how well the regimen has worked!
