Eric Dies True BloodOkay Truebies. The time is almost here. In a few short days we’ll find out how True Blood Season 3 ends.

I have a few ideas about the finale based on my extensive research (ha ha). We know Alan Ball will go for the shock factor. And we know someone will probably die, perhaps even more than one person. Therefore, here’s what I think might happen in the season finale:

#5 - Lafayette Has Special Powers. Yes, I think Miss LaLa is more than your average lipstick wearing, glitter-fabulous short order cook. His powers will help him see Jesus for what he really is: evil.

#4 - Arlene’s Baby is Possessed. I think her pregnancy will become something akin to Rosemary’s Baby. I think there’s a reason Holly’s magic didn’t work on the baby – I think there’s something weird about that baby. This would be poetic justice for Arlene because she’s kind of a supernatural bigot. I think Lafayette, with his special powers, will see that there’s something odd about her baby.

#3 - Tara is Pregnant. She’s carrying Eggs’ baby, which she decides to keep as a way of keeping Eggs’ legacy alive. In True Blood Season 4 we’ll see a calmer, gentler Tara. (Update: one of the readers suggested that Tara will get pregnant by Sam. Hmmn, what will the child be?)

#2 - Baby Vamp Jessica Kills Hoyt’s Mother. She does this either by mistake (blood lust) or because she gets really angry. She decides to hide this from Hoyt and spends next season afraid someone will find out what she did.

#1 - ERIC WILL DIE. The True Blood cliffhanger has to be BIG. To me, that means one of the main characters has to die. Or appear to die. Since they’ve already set the stage for Eric to perish, I think they’ll do something to make us REALLY believe he’s dead. We’ll spend the next 9 months wondering if it’s true.

—-UPDATE—-

Since yesterday I’ve been thinking about the demise of another character. Okay, don’t flog me but what about this:

#1a - SOOKIE DIES. Like Eric, Sookie is in bad shape at the end of episode 11. If she doesn’t get blood from Bill she might die. Hmmn. Wasn’t there a season finale preview that showed Sookie in fairyland? Okay, so what if she dies (I mean REALLY dies), her body is taken to the fae, and they restore her – either because she’s one of them or because they work out some deal with the vampires. Also, don’t forget that a sorceress is being written into next season. She’s supposedly someone with necromancer powers that can bring people back from the dead. See where I’m going?

So, we have 2 ways that Sookie (or possibly Eric) could be brought back from the dead. If Sookie’s brought back she’d be a sort of undead but not a true vampire. Don’t you see how this would make her even more unusual? What exactly would she be? We’d be on pins and needles wondering about her character’s powers for next season!

Okay, your turn. What do YOU think will happen in the True Blood Finale?

Blood Is Spilt True Blood

Here’s what happens in Fresh Blood Is Spilt, True Blood Episode 11:

Eric Offers Russell A Walk In The Sun
Eric, in an attempt to trick Russell, offers to show him how he can become a day walker. Russell and Eric stand in the road awaiting Sookie’s arrival. Russell does a neat car flipping trick (see the image above) to the vehicle that Sookie and Bill are driving in.

After they get Sookie inside Fangtasia, Eric spills the beans on Sookie, telling Russell that drinking her blood provides a supernatural sunscreen for vampires. Bill verbally confirms the power of Sookie’s blood which makes her think he’s betraying her.

The Devil and Miss Lafayette
Lafayette, while talking to Jesus, glances away for a moment. When he looks back at Jesus, he sees Jesus as an evil creature. Needless to say it scared the lipstick right off Lafayette’s face.

Lafayette later awakens to find his voodoo dolls “alive” in his living room.

The Sam in Miss Tara
Sam is having anger management issues. He and Tara realize they have a lot in common. They also realize they’re both a bit horny. Nuff said.

Holly Is One Weird Chick
Okay, so Arlene goes to Holly for help in getting rid of her baby (remember, Rene, the serial killer, is the daddy). Holly creates a big candle-lit circle in the woods (at night of course) and makes up a concoction for Arlene to drink. I have to tell you, I had a Maryann flashback when I saw this scene.

At first it looks like it worked because Arlene woke up bleeding. But turns out that baby ain’t goin’ anywhere.

Andy Bellefleur and Tara Have a Moment
Tara confronts Andy about Eggs’ murder, calling him a bad cop. Andy opens up and apologizes to her, sharing his feelings about the incident. Turns out he’s been haunted by Eggs’ death. I think his emotional confession touches Tara.

Here Comes The Sun
Eric drinks Sookie’s blood and sure enough, is able to walk outside in the daylight without catching on fire and going up in a pile of ash. Eric motions for Russell to come outside before the “cure” wears off. Eric knows that the effects of Sookie’s blood only lasts a short time so he lures Russell into the sun, hoping to kill him.

Funniest Line From Tonight’s Episode
Hoyt’s mother when talking about Jessica to Hoyt’s ex-girlfriend: “She’s not even alive and you are cute as pigs.”

The episode ends with Eric, burning from the sun, handcuffing himself to Russell and stating “we’ll die together.”

NO! SAY IT AIN’T SO! ERIC CAN’T DIE!

I Smell A Rat True Blood EpisodeLast week, Russell Edgington, the Gay Vampire King of Mississippi, made his television debut to humans by taking a chunk (I mean, a real chunk) out of a news anchorman. Too bad too because the guy was cute. He looked like someone that Russell might have liked.

Tonight we finally find out about Sookie’s special power, you know, the one where she’s able to make light shoot from her fingers? Well, turns out Sookie’s a bona fide fairy.

Here’s what else happened in tonight’s True Blood Episode:

Sookie’s a Happy Meal for Vampires
According to Bill, because Sookie has fairy blood she tastes better than any human. Sookie wonders if Bill’s feelings for her are based on the tastiness of her blood but he convinces her that he’s in love with HER, not her blood.

Let The Sun Shine In
Because of Sookie’s blood, Bill was able to walk in the daylight for a short period of time. Unfortunately, Eric knows this and in all likelihood, so does Russell. In his favor, I have to give it to Eric who refuses to give Sookie up to Russell, even though it might save his own hide.

Liar, Liar
Eric asks Bill why he doesn’t tell Sookie the truth about why he sought her out. I guess we, like Sookie, will have to wait until the next episode to find out. If you’ve read the books you already know the answer to the mystery. However, don’t forget that Alan Ball, the creator of True Blood, doesn’t always follow the books!

Take a Trip on the Wild Side
Jesus and Lafayette do some “V” and go on a hippy trip through their family’s pasts. Turns out Lafayette’s great-great-great grandmother was a conjurer and Jesus’ father practiced black magic. Hmmn. I wonder how their heritages will play a part in some of the True Blood episodes.

Tara Needs a Happily Ever After
Some of my friends don’t like Tara’s character but I feel sorry for her. Let’s think about her childhood:
-as a child she had to take care of her mother and lived in an abusive household;
-she briefly had a crush on Jason and then on Sam but never felt she was good enough to love;
-she found the one guy, Eggs, who loved her unconditionally, but he was gunned down outside her place of employment;
-she was brutalized by Franklin, a psychotic vampire.

Now, wouldn’t you have anger issues if you’d been through all that?

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Sam
Turns out Sam has some nasty skeletons in his closet. Or wherever he buried the bodies. I don’t care though, I still love his character.

Crystal Can Be So Catty
Tonight Crystal revealed her true nature to Jason. I don’t think she’ll be satisfied with Kibbles and Bits though.

Sookie’s in the Doghouse
Actually, it’s a basement. Eric put Sookie there and chained her up. Not sure if he put her there for her safety or if he plans to use her for his own good.

This True Blood episode ended with Patty Griffin absolutely ROCKIN’ OUT singing “I Smell A Rat”.

Here’s a great live video of Patty Griffin singing I Smell A Rat just a couple of months ago in Nashville:

The Sookie Stackhouse CompanionTitle: The Sookie Stackhouse Companion
Author: Charlaine Harris
Release Date: February 1, 2011
Pages: 320 pages
Genre: Vampire Romance

In this new Sookie Stackhouse book Sookie and Sam travel together to attend Sam’s brother’s wedding. If you look at the book cover you’ll see that it’s a drawing of Sookie with a dog – I assume the dog represents Sam!

The book will also contain a section where Sookie answers fan questions! A couple of months ago Charlaine Harris ran a contest where fans could email their questions to her and she’d choose the best ones for the book. I’m sure someone asked questions about Sookie’s future love life!

An exclusive interview with Alan Ball is also included in the book. It will be interesting to see if he reveals anything about Season 4 of True Blood.

The Sookie Stackhouse Companion is now on sale at a special pre-order price.
