Kim Harrison writes a series of urban fantasy books called “The Hollows” which center around Rachel Morgan, a practicing witch who lives with a vampire. Together they hunt supernatural bad guys for a living, along with their wise-cracking pixie partner. This is a well written, funny, and action-packed series.

Charlaine Harris has been writing books for over 25 years.
Charlaine Harris started out writing ghost stories but then switched to writing plays and poetry while in college. After she had her kids she began writing mysteries; her first mystery book “Real Murders” from the Aurora Teagarden series, won an Agatha Award nomination.
Charlaine then developed a new mystery series set in Arkansas about Lily Bard, a woman running a housecleaning business who’s trying to escape a horrific act that occurred in her past.
Charlaine’s next endeavor was to develop a series that was much darker that included elements of mystery, romance, and fantasy. That launched the beginning of the popular Southern Vampire Mystery series, commonly referred to as either “the Sookie Stackhouse books” or “True Blood books.”
Charlaine Harris lives in Arkansas with her husband, 3 children, 3 dogs, and “Not Duck.” You can read Charlaine’s hilarious story about their new pet at the Charlaine Harris blog.
Southern Vampire (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood) Books
These books by Charlaine Harris are the basis for the extremely popular True Blood TV show in HBO. They center around Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress in a bar in Louisiana who falls in love with a sexy and dangerous vampire.

JF Lewis Joins the League of Reluctant Adults
Posted by: | CommentsOne of my favorite new authors, J.F. Lewis, has joined the wacky folks over at the League of Reluctant Adults, one of my favorite urban fantasy sites. If you’ve never heard of them you should check them out, they’re hilarious.
J.F. Lewis is the author of the book “Staked” which I reviewed at this site a while back. I can’t wait for his latest edition which I believe is due to hit the streets either late this year or early next year.
Here’s hoping I can nab an ARC of that gem!
