True Blood Episode 11 – Frenzy
Posted by: | Comments
Here’s a recap from the fabulous Kitty Kat on what happened in True Blood Episode 11:
Tonight’s episode was a frenzy of both horror and humor. Fans of “the Forum” will have a field day with the new favorite quotes thread! Fangtastic!
Tonight we were introduced to vamp royalty, the Queen of Louisiana, a pretty red head that has not been into men since the Eisenhower administration. That’s fine, more for the rest of us. Loving the art deco day room and her theory on the origin of the maenads. I have a new respect for Maryanne. In light of history, she was at one time probably property in an arranged marriage with a husband with a penchant for young boys. Why shouldn’t she will herself into immortality? It think it is her right. Isn’t that in the Bible, or maybe the constitution? It is too bad she is worshiping a god who won’t be coming.
Bless Hoyt’s heart (hope nobody eats it). He was in for a night of awful revelations: Vampire Bill was right about his girlfriend, daddy wasn’t what he thought he was, and mama resents him for all the rednecks she passed up. Maybe he and Jessica will kiss and makeup. Maybe they will figure out a way to have makeup sex, too.
Score one for Team Bill, Bill in board shorts, very nice. Too bad the man can’t tan, but the chest hair is nice, very circa 1970’s Burt Reynolds. I’m glad oh so glad vamps don’t wax.
I loved the interchange between our intellectually challenged, Jason, and our follicle(y) challenged, Andy, male bonding at its best. Andy took for granted that Jason had it too easy, but as it turns out, there is a reason the women throw themselves at him. It’s all that time at the gym and the “A” in Porn 101. I’m so glad they could come together to save all the crazy, American, redneck, dumbasses. My heroes!
Now for the classic conundrum, which came first, the chicken or the Egg? We had Jason questioning if Sam could eat an egg he laid himself. Then we had Tara and Eggs making a nest for an egg. What the fried egg is going on in that crazy town? Any thoughts? Post them on the True Blood Forum! My mind is scrambled!
It’s True Blood Time!

When I think about the fact that there are only 2 episodes left for this season of True Blood my anxiety level rises significantly.
Yes, I’m totally addicted to this show.
It’s now 30 minutes before True Blood Episode 11 “Frenzy” airs and I find myself nervously checking the clock every few minutes. It’s funny how, on Sunday evenings, I find myself telling time in terms of when True Blood comes on. For example, 6:00pm for me is “3 hours before True Blood.” Oops, I just checked the clock again. It’s 22 before True Blood (or 8:38pm for you non-fans).
Okay. Gotta’ go. I have to use the bathroom, grab an adult beverage, and get ready for the show. Be sure to check out the True Blood Rehab Center. And drop in after the show to read Kitty Kat’s wonderful review!

Here’s Kitty Kat’s review of Episode 10: New World in My View
The query “What the heck is a Maenad?” linked us all on our journey through season two, and tonight we were “schooled” in the nature of the maenads and the god they serve, Dionysus. High school lit class was never this much fun! Admittedly, the residents of Bon Temps are not better off as a result of this god, but he can’t be all bad. According to Maryanne and Arlene, he likes corn fed Kobe beef and good liquor. I’m having a hard time not liking “the god who comes.” But then again, I’ve got a thing for bad super natural beings. Eric isn’t exactly a pussy cat, but he makes this Kitty Kat purr. Hope Sookie keeps having those sweet dreams!
For those of you who’ve been on the forum from time to time, you know my gal YankeeBlood has a thing for Sookie’s twin, Jason. He was amazing this evening, and from the previews for next week, he’s about to really take charge in setting his home town back to right. Looks like you are in for a treat next week, too, Yankee. Enjoy!
Now that we all know what the heck a maenad is we can move on to answering some new questions. What is up with Eggs? Who is Carl? Why did he have such a hard time “catching on” and why was he trying to turn Eggs and Tara on to Egyptian cotton towels? Egyptian cotton can be great and all, but Maryanne sure didn’t like his timing. Anybody out there think he’s going to play a role in stopping the mayhem?
And don’t even get me started on that glowing hand of Sookie’s!

True Blood Episode 9 – I Will Rise Up!

As mentioned in an earlier post, Kitty Kat will be reviewing the remaining episodes of True Blood for us. Therefore, without further ado, here’s Kitty Kat’s review of Episode 9 – I Will Rise Up!

Our naughty Viking strikes again! Tricking Sookie into sucking on him, and that sly little grin, who doesn’t love that? Sookie can be such a whiner sometimes. Did she really need to ingest his blood to have a sex dream about him? I’m not sure it’s Bill that’s dead. Poor Bill, I’m afraid he just isn’t going to be able to compete, and I think he knows it. Classic love triangle, glorious!
Speaking of glorious, after 2000 years, Godric finally meets the sun. I’m forgiving Sookie for some of her whining just because she was so sweet to Godric and Eric in their tender moment (tear). Sookie has been redeemed in my eyes, hope Godric found redemption, too.
As for our Egg-nigma, I think Lafayette has the golden ticket. “He’s poison, and he ain’t never gonna change.” Fantastic, eyelashes and all. As for Eggs being a god, our little drag queen sure “punched” a hole in that theory.
On to Hoyt and Jessica, how cute are they? Hoyt tried to set his mama straight, but in the end, he had to leave the nest. I bet he won’t have any trouble finding another “nest”. Think vampire Bill is up for a house guest?
Isn’t it great that no one had a fly swatter handy this evening? What a clever way to make a jail break. Good thinking, Sam. I guess every dog does have his day! Any thoughts out there as to how he’s finally going to rid himself, and the town, of that pesky maenad?
And finally, because Dallas is my hometown, I have some closing thoughts about the Texas/Dallas stereotypes portrayed in Season 2. Some are dead-on, no pun intended. Crazy right-wing churches, we’ve got ‘em. Stepford wives like Sarah, we’ve got those, too. Stupid Aggies like Luke, well, we don’t tell Aggie jokes for nothing. Stock piles of weapons, sure. Who doesn’t like the second amendment? But as for the “Dallas” wardrobe, black western wear? Now that is just mean. The Dallas nest happens to be in a very upscale neighborhood. You’d be as likely to see black, leather, western wear in that neighborhood as you would to see, well, actual vampires. It just isn’t done! That’s profiling, and profiling is wrong.
Check out my “coming out” interview in a previous article. I discuss several predictions about True Blood!
Also, check out the new forum called the True Blood Rehab Ctr. It’s a great place to meet other True Blood fans and discuss the episodes!
