Daphne, You’re a Pig – More True Blood Mystery
Posted by: | Comments
In True Blood Episode 6 (Hard-Hearted Hannah) we finally learn that Daphne has been wooing Sam as part of a plan to entrap him for Maryann Forrester. Here are the clues that led up to the discovery:
-Daphne seems to appear out of nowhere looking for a waitressing job at Sam’s bar.
-She’s an absolutely horrible waitress.
-Daphne has a scratch on her back that looks just like the one Sookie got when she was attacked in the woods. When asked about it she said “I don’t know what attacked me. I was sick for weeks and weeks.” Now, get real. Sookie almost died when she got scratched on her back like that.
-Daphne is a shifter who likes to take the form of a pig.
At the end of episode 6 we see Daphne leading Sam to the orgy taking place in Sookie’s back yard. It’s like old home week at the orgy – everyone’s there: Tara, Eggs, Andy Bellefleur, Terry Bellefleur, and Arlene. Maryann turns to Sam and walks toward him with the head of a bull in her hands.
Questions
1. What is Maryann planning to do with the bull’s head?
2. Does Maryann have the power to wipe the memories of humans? It looks like people forget that they’ve attended her orgies. Case in point: Eggs has apparently attended one of them in the past – that’s why he led Tara to that clearing in the woods. Notice that the rocks in the clearing were formed into a circle, just like the orgy circle we saw in Sookie’s backyard.
3. Did you notice the dagger that Maryann had? Eggs and Tara found blood on a rock in the clearing they found. Can you say human sacrifice?
4. Did anyone figure out that Daphne was evil BEFORE the last scene in episode 6? If so, what made you think she was bad?
This show just gets better and better . . . .

Top 10 Highlights from Episode 6: Hard-Harted Hannah
#10 - Daphne explains the scar on her back by telling Sam she was attacked while walking through the woods. She’s not sure what attacked her but “I was sick for weeks and weeks. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me.” Now, if you’ll remember, Sookie almost died from similar injuries; had it not been for Bill she would have. And also, Daphne is a shifter. Why would she go to human doctors with an injury like that? They’d wonder what type of animal created it. Daphne is full of it.
#9 - Orgy, orgy, orgy! Maryann throws a wild party while Tara and Eggs are out of the house.
#8 - Eric is seriously determined to break up Sookie and Bill.
#7 - We get a disturbing glance into Bill’s past life with Lorena.
#6 - Eggs has a moment of serious deja vu while he and Tara are driving. And what’s up with Eggs having to ask Maryann for “permission” to go with Tara to get a hot water heater? By the way, yum! I didn’t realize Eggs had such a hot body!
#5 - Looks like Hoyt is really smitten with baby vamp Jessica.
#4 - I really like Eric, but I really HATE what he’s done to Lafayette. Thank goodness for Terry Bellefleur, who can obviously relate to the trauma Lafayette is suffering through.
#3 - Okay, so it looks like Jason and Sarah are finally getting it on.
#2 - It was clearly a bad idea for Sookie to go to the Fellowship of the Sun looking for Godric. Why in the world would she think they wouldn’t know about her? Her ordeal with Rene the killer would have been all over the news.
#1 - We finally learn that Daphne’s been working for Maryann.
And here’s the Funniest Line from Episode 6:
Sookie commenting on first seeing Sarah Newlin: “You know, in person, she looks like vanilla puddin.”

#4 I Put a Spell On You: What’s up with Maryann telling Tara that she doesn’t have a home because the home she was living in was actually that of a client’s? And hello, did she really think she, Carl, and Eggs could move in to Sookie’s house? Tara initially says no but later, after Maryann turns up the heat by making the staff at Merlotte’s mad at Tara, Tara gives in. Now, what will Sookie think about her new house guests when she returns home?
#3 And They Call It Puppy Love: Jessica and Hoyt seem to be genuinely attracted to one another. However, Hoyt has GOT to move away from home. Living with mama ain’t sexy.
